GNS SRINAGAR NOV :Moderate faction of Hurriyat Conference launched a scathing attack on Omar Abdullah- led government, accusing it of being a "puppet" of the Centre. " The state administration is a puppet of the government...The reality is that it has no authority even to revoke a minor law," Hurriyat Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said addressing a Friday congregation at Chatpora in south Kashmir's Pulwama district. Apparently referring to the opposition of the army to Omar's intention to revoke AFSPA from some parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Mirwaiz said the announcements and decisions of this government are challenged by the army. "In such a scenario, how can this government claim to be a representative government of Kashmiris? It is nothing but a puppet...," the Hurriyat Chairman alleged. Mirwaiz said Hurriyat was never against the Indo-Pakistan peace dialogue, but backed out due to lack of sincerity on the part of the Centre to resolve Kashmir issue

Izhar Ali GNS SRINAGAR NOV :At least three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were roughed up by people after they allegedly forced their entry into a residential house and tried to molest a woman in Old City of Srinagar on Friday.According to the locals, three CRPF men in civvies allegedly forced their entry into a residential house in Karfali Mohalla area of the Old City this morning and tried to molest a woman who was present in the house. The woman, hailing from north Kashmir’s Bandipore district, locals said, raised an alarm attracting the attention of her neighbors and passerby, who went inside the house and dragged two of the troopers out. One trooper, they said managed to flee. “The locals, particularly youth beat the troopers to pulp. Another trooper tried to escape; however, the youth caught hold of him again and thrashed him severely. SHAFIQ MIR GNS Rajouri : Former Chief Minister and present union cabinet minister Farooq Abdullah declared his son and chief minister of Jammu Kashmir as “BOSS” of the state . He said this in special reference of Armed Forces Special Powers Act AFSPA saying that he “ Omar” has full authority to take decision on the issue . Yes being a head of the government, the chief minister of each state of India enjoys the status of “boss” with full authority, but here in the case of Omar Abdullah the situation is quite different . I don’t know how Farooq Abdullah used this word for his son despite knowing the fact that the person whom he declares and describes “BOSS” of the state has been moving from pillar to post and visiting the houses and offices of army commanders for the past some months to get their approval for the step he wants to take .
