All J&K Gaddi Sippi (ST) Congress Union Hold meet

GNS Reporter Jammu, :A meeting of the all J&K Gaddi Sippi (ST) Congress Union” was held at Jammu under the chairmanship of its state president Shri P.S.Chouhan. The meeting was attended by a large number of community members and office bearers of the union. While addressing the meeting President P.S.Chouhan asserted that Jammu & Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented development during the regime of Congress led coalition governments. Many developmental projects, schemes and policies have been launched for the overall development and prosperity of the state, especially for the upliftment of underprivileged and downtrodden sections of the society like Gaddi Sippi. Shri Chouhan appealed the community members and office bearers of the Gaddi Sippi tribes to join, support and strengthen the Congress party as this is the only party which could come to the rescue of the miseries of Gaddi & Sippi communities and can mitigate their woes and sufferings. In this meeting speakers highlighted the various burning issues and long pending demands of the communities and also suggested their remedial measurers. The main demands projected include establishment of an Advisory Board for the development of Gaddi & Sippi Tribes, till this board is established representation should given to Gaddi & Sippi Tribes in “Gujjar & Bakerwal Advisory Board”, establishment of Hostel facilities for the students of the community and restart of prematric scholarships for them, recognition of Gaddi language in VI scheduled of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir, enhancement in the reservation quota in professional colleges of the state for these communities. Political reservation for STs at par with SCs. It was also demanded that the special recruitment drive for candidates of Gaddi & Sippi Tribes in Sheep/Animal Husbandry departments should be consider, keeping in view their avocation of rearing goat and sheep. Prominent among others who addressed the meeting include S/Shri Hem Raj (Bani)-General Secretary, Tilak Raj (Kud)-Vice President, K.C.Bhandari (Bani)-Vice President, Bodh Raj (Ramban)-Cashier, Shankar Chand (Udhampur)-Secretary, Raj Kumar (Bhaderwah)-Joint Secretary, Vimal Kumar (Pancheri), Khem Raj (Chenani), Ishwar Dass (Charota) all members.

                 DVOs themselves have cases pending against them or under investigation By Sunny Sangral   GNS JAMMU, : At a time when Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is making tall claims of fighting corruption in Jammu and Kashmir through State Vigilance Organisation (SVO), there are several Department Vigilance Officers (DVO)s against whom cases of corruption are pending.  This has been relived by a RTI filed by a activist recently.  As per the reply of the state government, M.
