Kalygi father commits rape on stepdaughter

BY IRFAN MIR GNS Jammu July 26: In an inhuman act, a Kalygi father committed rape on his step daughter when she was alone at home in Ajitnagar( Gadigarh) under Satwari Police station. Report said that 19 year old girl along with her mother on Thursday reported the matter to p olice that on Wednesday night step father of the girl committed rape on her when mother and other family members were away from house to attend a function. The step father Jaspal Singh caught hold step daughter finding her alone and committed rape on her. He threatened her in case she told any thing some one he will kill him and her mother also. The girl remained tight lipped under threat and next day when Jaspal Singh went out, the girl narrated her tale of woe to the mother. After listening the whole episode mother took the girl to police station and reported the matter there. Police took the girl for medical examination and registered a case FIR 146 under section 376, 511 RPC and laid hunt of the accused.

Shrine in Kashmir opens after two decades

After remaining closed for two decades since militancy erupted in Kashmir Valley, a historical shrine dedicated to dead children will be reopened with a special puja marking 'Shravan Shuklapaksh Dashmi'. Kapal Mochan shrine, where  where rituals connected to deaths of unmarried children are performed was closed  at the peak of militancy in the Valley in the 90's  Located at Digam village in Shopian belt of South Kashmir, the shrine will see ancient rituals like 'Abhishek' and 'Shudikaran' of Kapilashwar lingam being performed beginning from Friday. "The shrine is being revived after two decades. Ancient rituals, including a 'maha yagh', will be performed to observe Shravan Shuklapaksh Dashmi tomorrow," Rohit Lahori, senior member of Kapal Mochan organising committee, said.

Omar reaffirms need for sustained Indo-Pak dialogue

GNS SRINAGAR, JULY 26 – Wishing External Affairs Minister, S. M. PDP highlights the problems faced by the farming community of J and K State

GNS JAMMU JULY26: People democratic party highlighted the various  problems being faced by the farming community of the state. Youth of Kashmir worst sufferers of conflict: Mehbooba Mufti ‘PDP wants to see Shopian as economic hub’

GNS  Srinagar , July 26: Stating that youth are the first and worst sufferers of   Kashmir   conflict, Ms Mehbooba Mufti, president Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said there is a dire need to address apprehensions and dilemma faced by the youth of the state.
