GNS JAMMU, FEB 17 : The Cabinet Sub-Committee to deliberate upon the constitutional legal and political ramifications of the recommendations of Justice Sagheer led working group on Centre-State relations held its 5th meeting here today under the chairmanship of the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather.  The Minister for Rural Development, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar, Minister for Industries and Commerce, Mr. S. S. Salathia, Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Mr. Taj Mohi-ud-Din, Minister for Tourism, Mr. Rigzin Jora, Minister for Health, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Revenue and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla, Minister for CA&PD, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon and Secretary Law, Mr. G. GNS NEW DELHI, FEB 17 : A group of 23 students from the remote areas of Rajouri and Poonch Districts of Jammu & Kashmir called on Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr. Farooq Abdullah, here today.  The students are on an Educational Tour” organized by 38 RR (MADRAS) Regiment, under “Operation Sadbhavna”.  The Minister had a detailed interaction with the students and inquired about the places they visited during the tour.  While praising the initiative to expose these young students from far flung areas to the outside world through the Sadbhavna Mission, he hoped that more such programmes at various levels would be undertaken in future.   He exhorted upon the young students to follow the path of truth, righteousness, secularism, communal harmony and nationalism.  He further urged the visiting students - the future of the nation, to care for the environment and inculcate a spirit of love for nature and its resources.  Officers from the Ministry made ...

By Mohinder Verma GNS JAMMU, : Notwithstanding the explicit directions from the Planning Commission of India, the preparation of separate sub-plans for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes population of the State has got delayed and State Government may not be able to submit the same to the Commission during the forthcoming discussions over the next Annual Plan as well as 12th Five Year Plan. Official sources told that during the discussions over J&K's Annual Plan for the current financial year, the Planning Commission of India, had directed the State Government to prepare separate Tribal Sub Plan and Schedule Caste Sub Plan as per the guidelines so that complaints regarding inadequate funds for the SC and ST population could be addressed and utmost transparency is ensured in the flow of funds from the State Annual Plan for SCs and STs in proportionate to their population.
