Rajouri, Poonch student tour group meets Dr Farooq

GNS NEW DELHI, FEB 17 : A group of 23 students from the remote areas of Rajouri and Poonch Districts of Jammu & Kashmir called on Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr. Farooq Abdullah, here today.
The students are on an Educational Tour” organized by 38 RR (MADRAS) Regiment, under “Operation Sadbhavna”.
The Minister had a detailed interaction with the students and inquired about the places they visited during the tour. While praising the initiative to expose these young students from far flung areas to the outside world through the Sadbhavna Mission, he hoped that more such programmes at various levels would be undertaken in future.
He exhorted upon the young students to follow the path of truth, righteousness, secularism, communal harmony and nationalism. He further urged the visiting students - the future of the nation, to care for the environment and inculcate a spirit of love for nature and its resources. Officers from the Ministry made a presentation on renewable energy explaining to them the nature and use of renewable energy and its increasing significance in the modern world.

6321 kanals of land transferred to CUs for creation of infrastructure: Malik

GNS JAMMU MAR,01 :Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik today informed the Legislative Assembly that about 4641 kanals and 4325 kanals of land has been indentified for the establishment of the Central Universities at Jammu and Kashmir respectively, out of which 3000 kanals and 3321 kanals stands transferred to these Universities. He said the process of transferring the remaining land is in progress. The Minister was replying to question of Mr. Yashpal Kundal in the House. The Minister said that the job of land survey and contour mapping has been assigned to Educational Consultants India Limited (EDCIL) after which master plans will be formulated and the construction work taken up. PDP emerged a force in Twin border District of Poonch , Rajouri

GNS RAJOURI : The way opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by former JK Chief Minister and erstwhile union home minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayed has been emerging as a force in the border region of Poonch , Rajouri, is really a worrying situation for Congress and National Conference . Govt. to conduct scientific study of the traffic management in J&K

By Tahir Mushtaq (TNI) GNS JAMMU, : With Management of rising vehicles become a nightmare for the administration in the rapidly growing urban centers of Jammu and Kashmir, government has decided to formulate a comprehensive City Transport Policy for scientific management of the vehicles. Sources said that some private consultants are being hired by the Transport Department to do a detailed study of traffic pattern, road use and ways to deal with the jams at peak hours.
