22 Doda deputations call on CM


GNS DODA, DECEMBER : As many as 22 deputations from various areas of Doda Wednesday evening called on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah here and presented him the memoranda of demands concerning them.
 The Chief Minister gave patient hearing and said that equitable development of all sections of the society is the bench mark of his government. He said the demands put-forth by the deputations would be given due consideration for redressal.
The deputations included Bar Association Doda led by Advocate Ghulam Hassan, Doda Development Front led by Chuni Lal, Social Welfare Front led by Raja Anayatullah, Schedule Caste deputation led by Bhagat Ram, Deputation of Congress Workers led by Javid Iqbal, a deputation of media persons of Doda district led by Naseer Ahmad Khora, a deputation of Awami National Conference Workers party led by Rana Puri Singh, a deputation of Beopar Mandal led by Karamutallah Nehru, a deputation of Child and Women Care NGO led by Dr. Zia Showkat, Doda Welfare Society, led by Mohammad Iqbal, a deputation of Sanatan Dharam Sabha led by Advocate Raman Pradeep, a deputation of Gujjar and Bakarwals led by Choudhary Salamdin, a deputation of Civil Society Doda led by Abdul Qayoom Zargar, a deputation of National Panther’s Party led by Farooq Ahmad Dar, a deputation of hilly areas demanding Hill Development Council for Doda led by Ghulam Hassan Tak, a deputation from Thatri led by Bashir Ahmad Sarwal, a deputation from Gandoh led by Mohammad Iqbal Bhat, Human Rights Forum led by Abdul Qayoom, deputation from Pul Doda led by Ved Prakash and a deputation of Chenab Valley Journalist Association led by Abid Shafi.
 The deputations in their interaction apprised the Chief Minister about matters relating to various issues pertaining to the general development of Doda and concerning the members of the associations they represented. The construction of Doa-Deesa-kapran road, upgradation of district hospital Doda, construction of Ganpat bridge and removal of encroachments in Doda town were stressed on by the deputationists.
 The Political Adviser to Chief Minister Mr. Davinder Singh Rana was also present during the interaction session.

Rejuvenate CICs as information hub: Omar

GNS SRINAGAR, MAY 21 – Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday highlighted the need for  rejuvenating Community Information Centres (CICs) to make them hub of Information collection and dissemination. He director for merging their functioning with the established Panchayat Raj System in the state. Addressing a high level meeting to discuss the issue of strengthening and upgrading CICs here, the Chief Minister asked the Information Technology and Rural Development Departments to jointly work out a viable model to use the CICs as block centres for dissemination of vital information to the people in rural areas particularly agriculturists.
