GNS Srinagar Dec : Rubbishing Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani's accusation of political vendetta behind the seizure of calendars and diaries of his party Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, state government Wednesday said the step was taken as it feared the publications could infuriate the situation in Valley.Talking to a local news agency, Minister of State for Home Nasir Aslam Wani said that government has no intention of harassing anybody. "But at the same time nobody can be let free to disturb law and order. Police and civil administration felt that Geelani's calendars and diaries carry infuriating material, so they decided to cease the material."Referring to Geelani's warning of dragging him, the DGP and the IGP to court, Wani said, "It is good that Geelani has at least reposed belief and faith in Indian judiciary." Pertinently Geelani had yesterday accused the state government of acting on political vendetta by ceasing calendars and diaries of his Tehreek-e-Huriyat. He had warned MoS Home, the DGP and the IGP of dragging them to court.

Sources said that some private consultants are being hired by the Transport Department to do a detailed study of traffic pattern, road use and ways to deal with the jams at peak hours.
