Hurriyat Conference (G) will discuss the Indian conspiracy" against US based Kashmiri separatist leader Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai during a meeting at its Hyderpora office on December 24.
A spokesman of the amalgam said that Hurriyat chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani will chair the meeting which is likely to be attended by "several scholars, intellectuals, lawyers, journalists and human rights activists. "
"Besides the services rendered by Ghulam Nabi Fai to the freedom movement, the meeting will also discuss the charges leveled against him as a result of an Indian diplomatic conspiracy," the spokesman said
"Hurriyat won't leave Dr Fai to face this conspiracy alone and a message would be sent to the international community that Kashmiris are struggling for a genuine cause and people active in this regard on the diplomatic front have a role in a durable solution to the issue," he said.
"If India is allowed to indulge in lobbying in America and other countries, then what is the justification for targeting a Kashmiri leader for the same. Such double standards do not behoove a nation which claims to be the champion of human rights and democracy," he said.
The spokesman said Dr Fai was a victim of "diplomatic conspiracy as India didn't want the world to know about the "oppression unleashed by it on Kashmiris."
