GNS JAMMU ; State Times Editor Raj Daluja alias Raji has grabbed 650 kanals of agriculture land at village Raipur Jagir near Seri Rakwalan in Gho Manasan area resulting into strong resentment among local people of the area. They have appealed to the Government to immediately get the land vacated from the encroacher.
In a complaint addressed to the Chief Minister, Vigilance Commissioner, Commissioner/ Secretary, Revenue Department, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu and Commissioner Settlement, Jammu, the people of village Raipur Jagir and adjoining areas said: "we are continuously being harassed and humiliated by the goons of Raj Daluja, who has grabbed the agriculture land of our village by changing the title of the land with active connivance of the Revenue Department officials''.
They said as per the law, the agricultural land measuring more than four kanals can't be sold but Raj Daluja has managed to get over 650 kanals of agricultural land by changing the title of the land with the help of Revenue officials.
"The goons of Raj Daluja are harassing us on every third day. Even police is taking the side of Raj Daluja and putting pressure on us. Fed up with these day-to-day threats, we are knocking your door for justice as everybody has disappointed us so far'', the villagers said addressing the Chief Minister. They pointed out that documents of the land have been made on the name of Suman Daluja after the grabbing by tampering Revenue records and changing entries.
They added: "as we have heard about your (the Chief Minister's) sincere efforts to free the State from the clutches of land mafias and goons, we are therefore requesting you to kindly intervene into our case and save us from daily humiliation".
The villagers said being the poor people they can't take on the might of Raj Daluja and the corrupt Government officials.
``Therefore, we are demanding the Chief Minister's immediate intervention into the matter as you seem to be only ray of hope for us. We are requesting you to kindly initiate action against Revenue officials and the land mafia for making our life a hell.
If action is not initiated against these elements, we would be compelled to commit mass suicide as has been happening in other parts of the country'', the villagers said.
Signatories to the complaint included Subash Chander son of Ram Lal, Girdhari Lal son of Prabhu Dayal, Chuni Lal son of Abu Ram and Bodh Raj son of Amar Nath.
Meanwhile, residents of village Sikanderpur (behind brick kiln) in Bishnah tehsil said Raji was also planning to grab upon the land after taking eight kanals of land on lease from the Auquaf.
They said Raju had developed a new technique to grab upon the Government land. He used to purchase small piece of land near the Government land. With the connivance of Revenue and other Government Department, he would then grab upon the Government land by getting its title converted.
As reported, Raji has been running office of the State Times at Nazool land. He has also grabbed upon 14 marlas of JDA land at prime locality of Trikuta Nagar at his residence and over one kanal JDA land at Railway Station where he has raised Sahil Bar and Restaurant and Ram Pyari wine shop on different names including that of his wife, Suman Daluja.
