GNS Jammu, April 05 –: A deputation from Banihal led by Sajad Shaheen called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah last evening and apprised him of the development needs of the area.
The deputation reiterated the request for Degree College at Ukharal underlining its need for the people of remote and far-flung area. The deputation also requested for harnessing tourism potential of Mahu-Mangit, Neel Top, Zaban Sharwabhar, Sargali and Sunseri describing these places beautiful tourist resorts.
The deputation also demanded sub-district status to Banihal, Tehsil status to Ramsoo, upgradation of hospitals at Khari, Ukharal and Ramsoo, setting up of micro hydel projects at Khari, Buzla, Pogal-Nallah, Chamhal-Paristan and Barihiner Neel and rural development blocks at Neel and Khari.
The deputation also requested backward status to Nawgam, Tethar, Lambar and Aser. It also requested for special recruitment drive by Police Department.
The Chief Minister gave patient hearing and said that the genuine demands would be look into for consideration.
