GNS Jammu April 17 :- Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Devender Singh Rana said that J&K National Conference is committed to the welfare of the youth of the state and the state coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah in its three years has brought in many innovative schemes for the gainful employment as also the employability of the youth of the state.
Rana who was addressing a series of public meetings in Panchayat Showa, Jandyal Upper and Dhanu in Block Bhalwal here today said that special emphasis has been laid on fast tracking the process of recruitment within the state government as also creating new viable opportunities for self employment of the youth within and outside the state. He said the initiatives taken by the government in respect of providing seed capital and arranging mortgage free loan at nominal interest rates has given a lot of fillip to employment generation within the state.
Rana said our state is a consuming state and as such the focus on import substitution by production within the state has already started showing tangible results with the import slowly declining and being replaced by production from within the state. He said the creation of Overseas Employment Corporation is another futuristic step which will lead to the manpower from the state being absorbed in foreign countries to ensure that the youth of the state compete with the youth of other states for foreign employment. He said capacity building has been a great focus of the state government from the last three years and the coming up of 55 ITIs and 22 polytechnic is a step in that direction.
Rana said that on the recommendations of the Rangarajan Committee the Uddan and Himayat schemes have opened up avenues of employment for the youth of the state in other parts of the country. He said that first time in the history of the state a visionary scheme like SKEWPY was rolled out which has first and foremost created a comprehensive database about the unemployed youth of the state and then provided them opportunities for their self development and self employment. He said the creation of District Employment and Counseling Centres at all district headquarters as a ‘one stop centre’ for comprehensive information, guidance, finance and handholding of the youth is a historic initiative which has already started showing results.
The Political Advisor said that the state coalition government unlike other political parties did not indulge in only hollow sloganeering and political gimmickry to exploit the youth but instead took concrete initiatives which will have far reaching impact on the development of the youth of the state. Rana said the Voluntary Service Allowance(VSA) started for the unemployed youth of the state while they are unemployed is a step that is being adopted by new governments in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh now.
Rana said it will be the continues effort of the coalition government to take new initiatives and consolidate the initiatives already taken to ensure that the economic vibrance which the state has seen in 2011 is slated in 2012 touches each sole of the state and the youth in particular.
Addressing the gatherings at these places Rattan Lal Gupta Provincial President J&K National Conference, Jammu province said that National Conference is committed for the equitable development of all the sections of the society with special focus on the development of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe and the state coalition government led by Omar Abdullah has flagged comprehensive development SC/ST and ruralites as an important aspect in the State’s development policy.
Gutpa said the state coalition government has completed three years which witnessed holistic development in all spheres and it is our (Party’s) responsibility to take the message of the government to the people and strengthen the hands of the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in his endeavour for peace, progress and prosperity.
Others who addressed the meetings at these places included Mumtaz, Ravinder Singh Jamwal, Sham Lal, Sain Khan, Anwar Khan and others.
