Negligence of Municipality may cause hazards: Awake India

GNS Poonch: A meeting of members of Awake India (Trust) was organized here to draw the attention of concerned authorities towards the menace of polythene and blocked drainage system in the city. Ayaz Mughal, who was presiding over the meeting, said how polythene is creating mess for us in day to day life.
Mughal said thatthe Municipality in Poonch has closed its eyes and ears to the menace of polythene in Poonch. Vendors are using the polythene in the city flaying away the laws.  Drainage system is blocked upto the edges and is leveled with the roads and pathways. During the rainy seasons water level rises and run out of drains resulting traffic jam. It creates dangerous pits, destroy the roads and at some places wipe out it completely.
Mughal said  extent of negligence becomes visible Near General bus-stand Poonch and in front of the historic Poonch Fort where polythene bags have completely blocked the sewage system creating unsafe, hazardous, insanitary and unhealthy environment around it. It is pertinent to mention here that this is the only VIP pass-way at heart of the city. Tehsildar office is at the stones through from this place. It explains the dereliction of officials who does not care about the health and hygiene of the city.
The members of trust said “We want to draw the attention of the District Administration Poonch to take the serious cognizance of the matter before it cause to be a source of dangerous infection and deceases across the area”,
“The administration must direct the vendors to bring in the use of fiber bags instead of polythene. It will create and eco-friendly environment”, said Sajad Chohan, Advocate.
