Vice President PCC expressed concern over the collection of irrigation rent (Aabhyana) forcibly from farmers of Vijaypur


GNS Vijaypur, September 11:Thakur Hari Singh-Vice President  PCC expressed concern over the collection of irrigation rent (Aabhyana) forcibly from farmers of Vijaypur and Purmandal Blocks.

Thakur Hari Singh was speaking in the meeting of Block Congress Committees Vijaypur and Purmandal, today. He said that the farmers of both the blocks are not getting proper irrigation facilities due to one pretext or the other and they been demanding irrigation facility time and again, but the government gave deaf ear to their problems. Instead of giving compensation to the farmers of these blocks, the government is recovering irrigation rent (Aabhyana) from them forcibly. It is grave injustice with the farming community of twin blocks. He demanded that this process should be abandoned immediately.

He also expressed concern over the dilapidated condition of Vijaypur-Ramgarh road which is under GREF. He said that this road is the only link to the border villages of Ramgarh sector and its proper maintenance is paramount. He urged upon the concerned authorities to repair the said road on war footing manner, keeping in view the problems of border area people.  He also demanded improvement of electric power supply in the area.

6321 kanals of land transferred to CUs for creation of infrastructure: Malik

GNS JAMMU MAR,01 :Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik today informed the Legislative Assembly that about 4641 kanals and 4325 kanals of land has been indentified for the establishment of the Central Universities at Jammu and Kashmir respectively, out of which 3000 kanals and 3321 kanals stands transferred to these Universities. Govt. to conduct scientific study of the traffic management in J&K

By Tahir Mushtaq (TNI) GNS JAMMU, : With Management of rising vehicles become a nightmare for the administration in the rapidly growing urban centers of Jammu and Kashmir, government has decided to formulate a comprehensive City Transport Policy for scientific management of the vehicles. Sources said that some private consultants are being hired by the Transport Department to do a detailed study of traffic pattern, road use and ways to deal with the jams at peak hours.
