He said that Lakhanpur-Sarthal tourism circuit would change destiny of the people of this belt from Lakhanpur to Sarthal via Billawar, Basholi and Bani because there were a number of picturesque spots which would attract tourists from all over the country.   He further said that there was huge scope of water sports due to construction of lake here.
Responding to the demand of local people, the former Chief Minister assured that Mahanpur would be given tehsil status. “Our party endorses demand of the residents of Mahanpur that this town should be given status of tehsil”, he said.

GNS RAJOURI : The way opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by former JK Chief Minister and erstwhile union home minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayed has been emerging as a force in the border region of Poonch , Rajouri, is really a worrying situation for Congress and National Conference . It would be much better to say that the situation if more threatening for NC as compared to Congress as the region has always been strong belt of the former for decades . The latest example is the entry of Chowdhary Qamer Hussain of Rajouri in the party fold who was earlier associated with Congress and had contested on Congress ticket from Rajouri in 2002 assembly elections , but had finished second at  that time . Qamar is not alone in the region who joined PDP in the past some months, National Conference has already received a big loss by loosing its influential cadres in Poonch district . The example is the entry of Shah Mohammad Tantray and Shehzaad Ahmed Khan of Poonch in to PDP  No...
