He said that soon after taking over a Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah constituted an Apex Body of Kashmiri Pandit society representing all shades of opinion to converge and come up with a comprehensive policy of welfare and return for KPs to the Valley. “It was after discussing the matter in the Apex Committee Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah discussed the employment and economic package for Kashmiri Pandits with the Prime Minister which was approved at the Central Government level and is under implementation at present”, he said adding that enhancement of cash relief and other concessions to KPs intending to return to the Valley have been taken up by Omar Abdullah at the Central Government level.Rana said that it is only National Conference who sincerely bats for the welfare of Kashmiri Pandits and wants their return in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. He said National Conference would continue its efforts in this direction adding that united approach by Kashmiri Pandit Samaj to resolve difficulties is key to success in this regard and National Conference is making all efforts for this unified approach by all shades of opinion in Kashmiri Pandit Samaj. “Those who come from outside the State and hold press conferences in favour of KPs are in fact bereft of any concern for them. They do it just for politics otherwise they do not have any interest in the return or welfare of KPs”, he said and made reference without naming PDP leadership for its dubious role in the exodus of KPs and dislodging democratic institutions for their self interests. Rana said that those (PDP) who are giving sermons on secularism have record of creating hatred and conflict between various sections and regions of the State and damaging democratic institutions. He said secular credentials of National Conference are glaring in the skies of the sub-continent and each one in the country is well aware of the struggle and sacrifice made by National Conference to nurture secular traits and hold the society together.Rana said that just like the history of Indian freedom is incomplete without Indian National Congress similarly, history of modern and secular Jammu and Kashmir is incomplete without National Conference. He said adding that the popularity of National Conference is deep rooted and imprinted in the hearts and minds of the people for its sacrifices and struggle.Rana said that power has never been objective of National Conference but public cause and equitable development of all is the only goal of National Conference. He said the joining of youth in the party from all across the State has given further strength to this party which is going to elections in 2014 with a mission of peaceful, plentiful, progressive and economically self reliant Jammu and Kashmir.
