An Account Of The Clash Between Protestors Agitating  Afzal Guru's Hanging And Bajrang Dal Activists At Delhi's Jantar Mantar. BY SHAZIA NIGAR (Tehalka.Com) A peaceful protest against the hanging of Afzal Guru developed into a skirmish when the protestors were attacked by a right-wing mob at Jantar Mantar today. Organised by Peoples’s Union for Democratic Right’s the protest consisted of 30-40 people – university students, professors, activists, Kashmiri students and concerned citizens. They had only just gathered at Jantar Mantar with their placards and posters when a group of right-wing activists attacked them. Those present at the scene claim that the attackers tore up posters, abused, molested and beat up women and men. An eye witness claimed that the mob consisted primarily of Bajrang Dal members as they were carrying the organisations scarves. GNS Jammu Feb 11:  Urging government of India to roll back the draconian measures in Kashmir that has imprisoned an entire population, People's Democratic Party patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed has said the narrow minded approach to the problem has already caused serious set back to peace process. GNS SRINAGAR FEB 09 : Peoples Conference Chairman Sajad Gani Lone has called the execution of Afzal Guru a grave miscarriage of justice. "Gurus hanging is a ruthless political decision devoid of any sensitivity. This is yet again an instance of total disregard being shown to the sensitivities and perceptions of the people of Kashmir," he said. New Delhi: The family of Afzal Guru, who was hanged and buried at the Tihar Jail this morning, has requested that they be allowed to perform his last rites in accordance with religious traditions. The letter, written by Guru's lawyer ND Pancholi to the Tihar Jail Director General Vimla Mehra on behalf of his wife Tabassum, says the family learnt about the execution from national TV. "They were denied the basic human right of meeting Afzal," the lawyers said.  The letter says, "We are writing to you to please permit the family members to give Afzal Guru proper dignified last rites in accordance with the religious traditions...If you could inform us when the family members can perform the 'Namaaz-e-Janaza', we would appreciate it."  Namaaz-e-Janaza is the Islamic funeral prayer which is a part of the funeral ritual. New Delhi: A scuffle broke out between VHP cadres and Kashmiri youths here on Saturday over the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru.   The incident took place this afternoon when members of VHP and Bajrang Dal gathered at Jantar Mantar and began distributing sweets to celebrate Guru's his hanging.  A few minutes later, a group of Kashmiri students came to protest against the hanging and a minor scuffle took place between them. The situation was brought under control by policemen.

GNS Srinagar, February 09: Barring stray incidents of stone pelting at various places, the situation across the valley remained under control and by and large peaceful. 36 persons including 23 policemen were injured in these incidents.Police exercised maximum restrain while dispersing the peltors. 23 policemen including some officers, a SP, a DSP and an ASI were injured in the pel ting incidents.While tackling of the stone pelters, 13 persons received injuries.               GNS Srinagar Feb 9:  Describing the execution of Mohammad Afzal Guru at Tihar Jail today as disappointing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today demanded the handing over of his body to the family for last rites. In a statement issued here the  party president Mehbooba Mufti said while the hanging should not have been carried out, the return of Afzal's body was the least the government could do to show its concern for humanitarian values. GNS BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 08: As many as 88 stranded passengers including four babies were airlifted in Bandipora today.According to Tehsildar Bandipora 41 passengers including one child were airlifted from Bandipora to Dawar while as 47 passengers including three babies brought to Bandipora from Dawar Gurez. He said that due to closure of Bandipora-Gurez road, air sorties are being put into service in order to take the stranded passengers to their destinations.

The 400 KVA Solar Power Plant has been installed at a cost of Rs.5.30 crore, ninety percent of which has been provided  by the Union Ministry for Energy and Renewable. Police executed a non-bailable warrant issued by Hon’ble Sub-Judge, Pattan against Nayeem Khan. A case FIR No: 5/2000 under section 13 ULA was registered in Police Station Pattan agai nst Nayeem Khan. The Challan of the case was produced in the court of Sub-Judge Pattan in the year 2008.Hon’ble Court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him which was executed today by police and he was produced before the Hon’ble Court. The Court remanded him to Judicial custody and on the directions of the court he was shifted to Central Jail, Srinagar.
