Nasir Wani, Javed hold public meetings at Rajdhani Thannamandi of Rajouri

                                                  
GNS RAJOURI, MAY 24-Minister of State for Home, Mr Nasir Aslam Wani and Minister of State for R&B, Javed Ahmad Dar today convened a series of public meetings in various far off areas of Rajouri to inspect the ongoing development works in the district besides taking stock of people’s problems.
Addressing a public meeting at Thannamandi, the Ministers elaborated the measures being taken up by the present government for socio-economic empowerment of people. They dwelt upon various steps like PSGA, RTI Act, and Accountability Commission and asked the people to take optimum benefit of such programmes to get speedy justice and disposal of their grievances. “These initiatives of the government have brought a big change in the total system ensuring a more responsive and accountable dispensation to the people”, they added.
Meanwhile, the Ministers convened a public meeting at Tatapaani, Kalakot and reviewed the status of development works being done in the area. They directed the concerned officers to prepare a project proposal for development of the famous Tatapaani spring which is being thronged by lakhs of people from across the country in view of its medicinal importance. The development of this destination will help the district occupy a significant place in the tourism map, they added.
At Badwan, the Ministers inaugurated a water supply scheme worth Rs. 1.69 crore which will benefit 2279 souls of the village and adjoining areas. They also inaugurated a filtration plant at Sondroh in Kalakote raised at a cost of Rs. 1.83 crore which will benefit 2392 souls.
Later, the Ministers inaugurated Rs. 2.99 crore bridge constructed over Arthama nallah, Rs. 1.63 crore bridge from Bamaobigalla to Kothagalla and Rs. 75 lakh bridge at Broh.
Spelling out measures being initiated for development of rural and far-flung areas, the Ministers said Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has issued specific instructions to all concerned to pay special attention on development of such pockets that have not received desired attention in the past so that the mission of equitable development of all the areas is achieved. They said that Panchayat representatives and common masses are vigorously supplementing the efforts of the government in this regard which reflects their firm faith in the endeavours of the present dispensation.“During the past over three years, the State has witnessed a discernible change in almost every parameters of development”, they added. 
The Ministers also visited Shadra Sharief and prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the state.
On the occasion, various deputations called upon the Ministers and apprised them of their problems and demands seeking an immediate redressal to the same.
Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for Development of Kissan, Mr Rashpal Singh, Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for Development of Pahari, Mr Mushtaq Ahmed Bukhari, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Mr Saugat Biswas, SSP Rajouri,Mubasser Latifi SE PHE, SE R&B and other district officers also accompanied with the Ministers.
