Elevation of Rahul Gandhi make Congress stronger and infuse a new life in the party: Vakil AICC session rejuvenate party and make it strong enough to led the nation in 2014 polls: Jugal Kishore Sharma (MLC)

GNS Jammu  Jan 22 : Former minister and AICC member Abdul Gani Vakil today while congratulating Rahul Gandhi for his elevation as Vice President of Indian National Congress said with assertion that this elevation of Rahul Gandhi to the post of Vice President will make Congress stronger and will infuse a new life in the party and will enable congress to form the government again not only in the country but in different states including Jammu & Kashmir State as well. Congress will leave no stone unturned in making all efforts to form the government on its own in the state of Jammu & Kashmir and will never prefer to be the team B of any party in the state in future Vakil added. Mr.Vakil while describing the speech of All India Congress Committee (AICC) Vice President Mr. Rahul Gandhi as historic and said that time has come when accountability and transparency will have to be maintained in the system for ending public alienation.
He said that Rahul Gandhi’s assertions that “Perform or pave way” is a right message for those who stick to power for their vested interests and ignore common people. The young Vice President of the Congress party has very rightly asked party stalwarts to stay detached from power and only empower the voiceless people of our nation. Mr. Vakil was addressing a meeting of party workers in Gandhi Nagar today which was organized to hail the decision of CWC for appointing Shri. Rahul Gandhi as Vice President of the party. Janak Raj Gupta Ex. MP and Sr. Congress leader was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
Mr. Vakil also appreciated Rahul Gandhi’s message for party leaders and workers that every individual in the organization must be respected and given due honours. Appreciating Rahul’s resolve to decentralize power, Vakil said that true democracy as explained by Rahul Gandhi lies in decentralizing powers for which Panchayats must be empowered and elections to BDC’s and local bodies should be held in our state as early as possible. This he said would pave way for Congress retaining power in next general elections as well. The time ahead is very crucial and Congress is left with very less time. The programmes and policies of Congress, he said need to be spelled into every nook and corner of the country so that people could know the achievements and people’s friendly policies of this party. He hoped that complete transformation of the system as desired by Rahul Gandhi would be realized by meeting the aspirations of people
The AICC session also dwelt at length over the issue of corruption and nepotism which, Vakil believed is eating into the vitals of our institutions and alienating masses. We need to bring in more transparency in the system and as desired by the congress president Smt. Sonia Gandhi that party should effectively work against corruption and  must perform or pave way for better ones.
While addressing the meeting Jugal Kishore Sharma MLC and Ex. Minister congratulated Rahul Gandhi for his maiden speech as Vice President and said that outcome of this session would rejuvenate party and make it strong enough to led the nation in 2014 as well. He congratulated Rahul Gandhi for his maiden speech as AICC Vice President and believed that under his dynamic leadership all the party leaders, workers and frontal organizations would get a fillip and get strengthened.
Besides others who addressed the meeting and congratulated Rahul Gandhi for his elevation as Vice President of AICC include MLC B R Kundal, PCC Office Bearers Vinod Mishra, Maheshwar Singh, Ashok Sharma, Jugal Kishore Sharma Sr. Vice President INTUC,  Kirtan Singh Smt. Kailash Kumari, Lalita Sharma, and many others.

PDP emerged a force in Twin border District of Poonch , Rajouri

GNS RAJOURI : The way opposition People's Democratic Party (PDP) led by former JK Chief Minister and erstwhile union home minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayed has been emerging as a force in the border region of Poonch , Rajouri, is really a worrying situation for Congress and National Conference . It would be much better to say that the situation if more threatening for NC as compared to Congress as the region has always been strong belt of the former for decades . The latest example is the entry of Chowdhary Qamer Hussain of Rajouri in the party fold who was earlier associated with Congress and had contested on Congress ticket from Rajouri in 2002 assembly elections , but had finished second at  that time . Qamar is not alone in the region who joined PDP in the past some months, National Conference has already received a big loss by loosing its influential cadres in Poonch district . The example is the entry of Shah Mohammad Tantray and Shehzaad Ahmed Khan of Poonch in to PDP  No...

When the holy Quran was placed before Mohammed Maqbool Butt on the morning of February 11,

When the holy Quran was placed before Mohammed Maqbool Butt on the morning of February 11, 1984, he knew that death awaited him in the phansi kothi a few yards away. A high voltage bulb burning outside the grated doors of his solitary cell in the death row was indicative of the outside darkness. If he had had any hopes of living awhile yet, they were dashed by the presence of the” prison doctors. Jail superintendent, A.B. Shukla/had paid Butt a visit in the middle of the previous night. Shukla chatted with him for a long time but cautiously avoided any talk about the execution. “I will see you on Monday”, Butt’s counsel on record, the sallow-complexioned R.C. Pathak, had told him during a brief interview they were allowed on the evening of February 10. In answer, the condemned Kashmir Liberation Front leader, who was awarded the death sentence of the murder of a CID officer in 1966, had meaningfully remarked: “Do you think they will permit us a second meeting?” He was right! Butt was n...
