Mostly the accident cases are referred there at GMC and the head injuries and some other cases requires a CT Scan test at that time.
According to the sources in the GMC the emergency CT Scan room seen locked and is started after 4 pm mainly due to shortage of manpower.
There is another CT Scan machine available on the first floor in the OPD and the emergency ward is on ground floor so it creates problems for the attendants as well as the patients to go for that test. As the emergency CT scan is locked the patients of OPD and the emergency patients have to wait a lot for their tests.
Shiv Dutt Sharma, a attendant said that it is very difficult when they have take their patient to CT Scan OPD as this OPD is present on the first floor. If the emergency CT Scan room will opened for the emergency patients, it would be very beneficial for the patients as well as for attendants.
Head of Department (HOD) Radiology Dr Ghan Shyam said for the test of CT Scan, there is provision of 20 patients for test at a time.
He further said that they were unable open the emergency CT Scan room before 4 PM because of lack of staff.
