An Ideal Teacher

An Ideal Teacher
By: Dr. Shakeel Ahmed Raina,
The first and foremost factor that is indispensable to become an ideal teacher is qualification and knowledge of the subject. At present there is no dearth of degrees and knowledge with teachers but even then the percentage of Ideal Teachers is very low. What is the reason? Lot of discussion and debates are being conducted formally and informally to answer this question but reply every times remain awaited. In my opinion any teacher who does not love with his profession cannot be an Ideal Teacher. Hence love with the profession and job after qualification and knowledge is a most visible symptom of an Ideal Teacher. An ideal teacher always thinks that he is a nation builder and his profession is the profession of messengers of God. He never does any act which may lead down him and his profession in the society. Honesty, sincerity and punctuality become part of his habit. One cannot expect double standard and duplicity from him. He loves his students irrespective of caste, color and creed and whishes for their bright career. In teaching he comes to the level of the students. He always thinks very high and he dislikes negative thinking.

for his professional growth always remains in touch with studies, latest developments in the subject and teaching techniques and consequently applies them in his teachings. Attending of subject related training programmes, seminars and conferences become part of his routine work. He never becomes overconfident and continuously tries to improve his qualification and knowledge. He loves educational discussion. He is not problematic in the institution as well as in the society. He himself considered as role model and therefore remains very conscience about his character. Simplicity is one of his virtues and he tries to remain neat and clean internally as well as externally.
