Acting on large scale public complaints, after one year, government has succeeded to relieve an accountant posted in block office Thanamandi who has been holding the charge of accountant forcibly for the past one year after his transfer . But still , the said accountant has left the office along with some important files of the office. An inquiry has been ordered in this regard for which the report is awaited . Giving details, sources said, large scale embezzlement of funds have surfaced in the records of block office Thanamandi . The matter came to light after the shifting of an accountant from the office who has been holding charge for the past one year forcibly despite his transfer . The departmental in house inquiry ordered by the government has dotted large scale misappropriation of funds in the past three years. In fact , the matter had come to light past in the past month when government ordered the suspension of block development officer Thanamandi for his failure in relieving his account from the charge he was holding forcibly after his transfer from the block . The said accountant namely Abdul Rasheed was transferred by assistant commissioner development Rajouri a year ago fallowing the large scale complaints of corrupt practices against him . However, throwing his transfer order to winds , the accountant forcibly continued on his post and didn't give the charge to his successor , said Assistant Commissioner Development Rajouri Subhash Sharma . The concerned block development officer had also expressed his helplessness before his high ups saying that his accountant was not an ordinary person to be relieved easily . He was not politically well connected , even some corrupt babus in the system were also his supporters . Finally , last month , a deputation of local people approached to rural development minister Ali Mohammad Sagar and brought whole of the matter to his knowledge . Acting on this complaint , minister also played safe and suspended block development officer Thanamandi holding him of responsible for not relieving the accountant from the post he was transferred much earlier . But , later again , minister modified his order and asked the officials to relieve accountant beside reinstating the BDO . Official sources said that though the said account was relieved from the block after the intervention of his some well-wishers, still he has kept some important files with him . The preliminary investigations suggest that large scale embezzlement of funds have been made in the past three years in block Thanamandi and most of the files are missing from the record . An official in block office told GNS that most of the IAY scheme has been misappropriated and amount has been disbursed only on papers.
