GNS Jammu, November :Jawaharlal Nehru’s 122 nd Birth Anniversary was solemnized at Congress Headquarters Jammu today. A large number of Congress functionaries & workers attended and paid floral tributes to Jawaharlal Nehru’s memory. Prof. Saifuddin Soz-MP (President JKPCC) presided over the function. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Soz characterized Nehru as the true builder of modern India who laid foundation of numerous institutions during his life time which later became significant milestones of India’s march towards socio-economic development. Prof. Soz emphasized that when Jawaharlal Nehru was at the helm, India was fighting a battle against poverty and illiteracy. But, Nehru made it possible not only to fight a glorious battle for socio-economic resurgence of India, but also bring India at the World stage to lead the World in the realm of ideas. It is an established fact Soz said, that he (Nehru) succeeded in achieving a role for India in the international arena, which was second to none within the Commity of Nations. Prof. Soz said further that the birth of NAM (Non Alligned Movement ) was due to Nehru’s vision. On this occasion Prof. Soz urged the Congress party colleagues to help him (Prof. Soz) to institute Nehru Vichar Manch in Jammu to propagate the ideas of Nehru so that the present generation of students in colleges and schools grow as inspired and enlightened citizens of India. Prof. Soz explained his plea further by suggesting that certain schools be adopted for solemnizing the function in future with children. By Tahir Mushtaq (TNI) GNS JAMMU, : With Management of rising vehicles become a nightmare for the administration in the rapidly growing urban centers of Jammu and Kashmir, government has decided to formulate a comprehensive City Transport Policy for scientific management of the vehicles. Sources said that some private consultants are being hired by the Transport Department to do a detailed study of traffic pattern, road use and ways to deal with the jams at peak hours.
