Punish erring BEd colleges, then think of counseling once more

By Ajmair Wani
GNS JAMMU: The National Secular Forum (NSF) has asked the Jammu University (JU) not to go for BEd admissions as the Forum of BEd Colleges was pressing it hard for the same. Instead, JU should take action against the erring colleges and think of opening counseling once again.
Addressing a press conference, NSF president Vikas Sharma said, "BEd colleges committed number of irregularities during the last academic session. University had ordered inquiry to unearth those irregularities. But so far nothing has come out. BEd colleges have made the mockery of the system. They indulge in large scale irregularities and at the same time asking for admissions to fill their seats."
He advised JU administration to apply Carrot and Stick Policy with the BEd colleges. Sharma said, "The academic session of BEd commenced on October 15 and already 50 days have passed and how it would be possible to admit the students at this stage. JU must not open the counseling once again."
He added when relief is not been given to other students vis-a-vis late admissions then the same criteria should be applied for BEd admission as well. No concession of any kind is given to the BEd colleges who have thrown all the norms of University to winds. He warned of agitation if the students would be admitted in the BEd colleges.
Among those who were present in the press conference included, Shafqat Malik Chairman University Unit, Nitin Chandal, Imtyaz Lone, Sahil Sharma and others.
