GNS JAMMU : Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Tuesday afternoon flagged off a group of students from the State from MAM Stadium here to an exposure visit to the country organized by J&K State Rehabilitation Council in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
Speaking at a function on this occasion, the Chief Minister asked the students to act as ambassadors of Jammu and Kashmir and present the State’s specialities to their counterparts during the visit to various parts of the country. “The tour has provided you an opportunity to study the cultural diversity, development aspects, life styles, educational excellence and other features of socio-economic progress in various parts of India”, he told the students asking them to also give details about the rich heritage, culture, amity, development, environment, hospitality of the people and natural beauty of the State to the people and students to whom they are going to meet and interact during the visit.
The Chief Minister told them that the tour will also enable them to expand their knowledge about so many aspects prevailing in other States and also learn more on historical and educational fronts. He asked them to take best advantage of the opportunity and utilize it for enriching their knowledge and experience.
The Chief Minister also interacted with the students and Members and Staff of the two Councils.
Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, R. S. Chib, Advisor to Chief Minister, Mubark Gul and Minister of Fisheries, Ajaz Ahmad Khan were present on the occasion among others.
