West unit of People Democratic Party hold a strong protest demonstration at Bakshi Nagar Jammu


GNS JAMMU :The Jammu West unit of People Democratic Party (P.D.P)  hold a strong protest demonstration at  Bakshi nagar  against State Govt  ,P.D.D  and P.H.E Deptt . Which was lead by its Jammu West President Puneet Jamwal and various Ward Presidents Rajat gupta , Rajkumar ,Rinku, Gurdev singh ,Roomy gupta , Rouf, Zahid, Rasal singh, Sunny,Jaral ,Sohan singh ,Deepak ji, Salman bhatti, Sham sharma Davinder dogra, .The P.D.P workers   protested  for unscheduled  power cuts  in Jammu West and for price hike in P.H.E and raised slogans against the PHE and PDD Ministry and the government for increasing the water tariff and against the non-availability of the basic amenities.
The party in a handout said that the government has increased the water tariff to Rs 800 per month from Rs 300 and described the hike as uncalled for as the common masses are unable to pay so much rent as the rising prices has already broken the back bone of the common man Puneet Jamwal while speaking on the occasion criticized  this hike and termed as anti people decision which will directly affect the budget of common man in J&K which is already facing price spiral from the last many months.
The PDP workers shouted slogans against state governments for keeping an ‘indifferent’ attitude towards common man.
The protestors staged dharna in the middle of the road and demanded the Chief Minister and the PHE Minister to rollback the increased water tariff which a poor man is unable to pay.  They  questioned government’s rationale on hike in power when whole of the Jammu region is facing long unscheduled power cuts putting people in hardship.
The important leaders present on the occasion were Mohan chowdhary,Ashwani ji ,Parvez malik,Bharat ,Shamsher singh and others .

6321 kanals of land transferred to CUs for creation of infrastructure: Malik

GNS JAMMU MAR,01 :Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik today informed the Legislative Assembly that about 4641 kanals and 4325 kanals of land has been indentified for the establishment of the Central Universities at Jammu and Kashmir respectively, out of which 3000 kanals and 3321 kanals stands transferred to these Universities. He said the process of transferring the remaining land is in progress. The Minister was replying to question of Mr. Yashpal Kundal in the House. The Minister said that the job of land survey and contour mapping has been assigned to Educational Consultants India Limited (EDCIL) after which master plans will be formulated and the construction work taken up. Govt. to conduct scientific study of the traffic management in J&K

By Tahir Mushtaq (TNI) GNS JAMMU, : With Management of rising vehicles become a nightmare for the administration in the rapidly growing urban centers of Jammu and Kashmir, government has decided to formulate a comprehensive City Transport Policy for scientific management of the vehicles. Sources said that some private consultants are being hired by the Transport Department to do a detailed study of traffic pattern, road use and ways to deal with the jams at peak hours.
