Ex-JJSF chairman joins PDP


GNS Jammu, April 23: Former Chairman of Jammu Joint Students Federation (JJSF) Kuljeet Singh Jamwal today joined Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the presence of party patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Other senior leaders of PDP including former Minister Abdul Aziz Zarger, Abdul Rehman Veeri, MLA. Falail Singh, Ashok Jogi, R K Bali and other leaders were also present on the occasion.
Jamwal is a prominent student leader of Jammu region and is associated with a number of social and youth organizations.
Speaking on the occasion that Jamwal said that he is impressed by the policies and programees of the PDP. He said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir has set an example of good governance and it was only during the regime of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed that all regions were treated equally. He said that period during the chief ministsership of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has been rightly described as golden period of the political history of this State.
Jamwal called upon the youth to come forward and join PDP because this party is future of the State and younger generation, especially the educated youth have to join this party for the better future of this State. He said that PDP is the only party which is committed to provide justice to all regions of the state.
Welcoming Jamwal in the party, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed said that joining of large number of youth in the party is a clear indication that PDP has been emerged as premier political force of the State.
Abdul Rehman Veeri, who convinced Kuljeet Singh to join PDP, said that youth are coming forward to join this party because only PDP has a comprehensive agenda for the youth. He hoped that with the joining of Kuljeet Singh Jamwal, party would be further strengthened in Jammu region.
Among others who joined PDP with Kuljeet Singh Jamwal included Vikas Gupta, Jagdish Gupta, Anantnag wallay, Sanjay Kumar, Deepak Kumar and others.

6321 kanals of land transferred to CUs for creation of infrastructure: Malik

GNS JAMMU MAR,01 :Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik today informed the Legislative Assembly that about 4641 kanals and 4325 kanals of land has been indentified for the establishment of the Central Universities at Jammu and Kashmir respectively, out of which 3000 kanals and 3321 kanals stands transferred to these Universities. He said the process of transferring the remaining land is in progress. The Minister was replying to question of Mr. Yashpal Kundal in the House. The Minister said that the job of land survey and contour mapping has been assigned to Educational Consultants India Limited (EDCIL) after which master plans will be formulated and the construction work taken up. Govt. to conduct scientific study of the traffic management in J&K

By Tahir Mushtaq (TNI) GNS JAMMU, : With Management of rising vehicles become a nightmare for the administration in the rapidly growing urban centers of Jammu and Kashmir, government has decided to formulate a comprehensive City Transport Policy for scientific management of the vehicles. Sources said that some private consultants are being hired by the Transport Department to do a detailed study of traffic pattern, road use and ways to deal with the jams at peak hours.
