GNS JAMMU JULY 8: Jammu and Kashmir government today said the Centre has sanctioned new quota of ration for Gujjar and Bakerwal community and ration cards will soon be issued. "New quota of ration for Gujjar and Bakerwal community and migrant population has been sanctioned by the Government of India (GoI) and ration cards will be issued to them soon in Jammu and Kashmir," Minister for Transport and CAPD, Qamar Ali Akhoon, said. The government will provide ration at BPL rates to Nari Niketans, Bal Ashrams, orphanages, shelter homes for the destitute, residential hostels of private schools, hostels for SCs and STs, he also said.
GNS JAMMU MAR,01 :Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik today informed the Legislative Assembly that about 4641 kanals and 4325 kanals of land has been indentified for the establishment of the Central Universities at Jammu and Kashmir respectively, out of which 3000 kanals and 3321 kanals stands transferred to these Universities. He said the process of transferring the remaining land is in progress. The Minister was replying to question of Mr. Yashpal Kundal in the House. The Minister said that the job of land survey and contour mapping has been assigned to Educational Consultants India Limited (EDCIL) after which master plans will be formulated and the construction work taken up. He said at present both the Central Universities are functional in the rental accommodation.
