Muzaffarabad, Pakistan administrated Jammu and Kashmir: large number of women protested against the recent activities of some banned Kashmiri militant groups in Neelum valley area, reported Press For Peace (PFP) a civil society organization working in Pakistan administrated part of Kashmir. “Recent movement of militants of outlawed Jahdi organizations in border areas, especially Neelum valley, is a great danger for the peace in the local area,” women protestors told Pakistani army officials. Three Pakistani troopers and one Indian soldier were killed on the concluding day of last month in an exchange of fire by the rival militaries across their sensitive border in divided Kashmir two weeks ago. PCC expressed deep shock over causalities

GNS Jammu; : Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has expressed deep shock over the causalities in a tragic bus accident at Dogdol area of Ramban, yesterday. JKPCC Chief Prof. Saifuddin Soz-MP (former Union Minister) and other senior leaders of the party have deeply condoled the loss of several precious lives and injuries to many people. They have conveyed their sympathies to the families of the deceased and asked for best treatment to the injured. PCC leaders have asked for proper and effective steps to deal with repeated accidents resulting into loss of precious lives, specially in hilly areas of the state.

no bill seeking amendment to Section 3 and Section 5 of J&K Constitution

GNS Jammu; Mr. Ravinder Sharma MLC & Spokesman JKPCC has said that no bill seeking amendment to Section 3 and Section 5 of J&K Constitution can be introduced or moved, as per provision of the state constitution. Referring to a news item with regard to a private bill moved by a PDP legislator in the assembly seeking amendment/deletion of Section 3 of the state constitution which describes the relationship of the state with Union of India stating therein “the state of Jammu & Kashmir is and shall be an integral part of the Union of India”. Mr. Sharma said that as per provision of the Section 147 of the state constitution, no such bill can be moved or introduced, which reads, “provided further that no bill or amendment seeking to make any change in…… b) the provisions of Section 3 & Section 5, …….., shall be introduced or moved in either house of the legislature”. In view of the clear legal position, the move is ill-conceived.

PFP urges British MPs to voice for Kashmiris rights

Press for Peace (PFP), a campaign group on Wednesday appealed British parliamentarians to raise their voice to protect human rights in Kashmir. PFP founder Zafar Iqbal sent an appeal to 648 members of British House of Commons, in which he highlighted major issues faced by people in three units of Jammu and Kashmir. Expressing deep concern over human rights violations in all entities of Jammu and Kashmir committed by India and Pakistan, appeal urged parliamentarians to raise voice for peaceful resolution of Kashmir conflict. It urged British MPs to support the demand of the establishment of an independent commission to probe the incident of unnamed graves in Kashmir. It said that Kashmiris are concerned over arrest of political workers in Indian Kashmir and Pakistani Gilgit-Baltistan. The appeal said that both the India and Pakistan have failed to address the grievances of local population and environmental concerns raised by some major development projects like Diamer-Bhasha Dam (GB),
