47 Road projects Under NABARD Prioritized for Erstwhile Doda : Sagar

GNS JAMMU FEB, 28 : Minister for Rural Development, Law, Justice, Panchayati Raj and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar today informed the House that the government has prioritized 47 road projects worth Rs. 28476 lakhs for funding under NABARD for erstwhile Doda district during current fiscal.  Replying to a question raised by Mr. G. M. Saroori in Legislative Assembly here, he said construction of 281 road projects of Rs. 1013.54 crore for erstwhile Doda district have been already sanctioned by the Centre under NABARD and Prime Minister’s Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). Adding that work on 392 road projects at the total cost of Rs. 1709.56 crore under Centre and State plans in the area are apace.  He said construction of Bhadarwah-Chamba road is advanced stage of execution at a cost of Rs. 73.33 crore whileas upgradation work of Rs. 298.87 crore on Batote-Kishtwar road and Rs. 282.98 crore Kishtwar-Simthan roads is under execution through BRO. Omar underlines statesmanship spirit to address Kashmir issue

GNS JAMMU, FEB, 28 –:  Underlining the complexity in addressing of political issues of Jammu and Kashmir, Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Tuesday said that the State Legislature alone cannot work out a solution itself adding that the Centre has a definite role in this regard. “When there are parts of Jammu and Kashmir under the occupation of Pakistan and China, we have to look for a comprehensive strategy to address the issue amicably and peacefully”, he said seeking the support of all stakeholders for focusing the issue. “On this floor of House I am on record to commit ten steps forward movement towards main opposition (PDP) if it rises above politics and moves one step forward sincerely towards me to help address the political issue of Jammu and Kashmir”, he said highlighting the need of exhibiting the approach of a statesman towards this problem instead of behaving like a politician. Protest demonstration at Bhalessa (Doda)

GNS DODA ,Feb, 28 :-   A large protest against discriminatory policy of the State Government, daily wagers of PHE department under the leadership of Mr. Riyaz Ahmed Zargar, Senior Vice President PDP, today organized a protest demonstration at Bhalessa (Doda). While addressing the gathering Raiz Zargar  lambasted the State Government for ignoring the just and genuine demands of the daily wagers of PHE. He further said that these daily wagers of the PHE are at the verge of starvation for they have been denied wages for the last so many months. While demanding release of their wages and regularization and all these daily wagers Mr. Zargar warned the State Government that PDP would take some streams steps if these demands are not full fill at the earliest. MEDIA BOYCOTT: RESOLUTION

GNS JAMMU : The entire media fraternity protesting against the controversial remarks of Speaker J&K Legislative Assembly challenging the freedom of press on the floor of the House today resolved to continue boycott the legislature proceedings consecutively on the second day. The decision was taken in a meeting held at Press Club Jammu after the Speaker retracted from his reconciliatory overture to end the stalemate by holding a meeting with media at his Chamber at 2.00 PM. Earlier the invitation to media to end the impasse was conveyed by both the  Political Advisors to the Chief Minister Devender Rana and Mubarak Gul accompanied by Secretary Legislative Assembly on behalf of the state legislature. However the reconciliatory gesture from the government fizzled out as they failed to keep their commitment. Uproar in J-K Assembly over Guru, Rashid evicted from House

GNS JAMMU, Feb : The issue of death row convict Afzal Guru rocked Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Monday as the Opposition demanded a debate on the issue.  Issue was taken by independent MLA from Langate Engineer Rashid who was later marshaled out from the House on the directions of Speaker Muhammad Akbar Lone.  As soon as the proceedings began Rashid raised the issue and criticised Union Minister Farooq Abdullah for his recent remarks relating to Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. "He (Abdullah) has betrayed Kashmiris by his statement on Guru. I condemn him," Rashid said in the House.  He alleged all political parties had joined hands to thwart his resolution on Guru in the House last year. “If Azfal Guru has to pay price, why not all those who killed innocent Kashmiris are in last two decades.
