Farooq asks youth to channelize their energies in right perspective

J&K Police lost a young boxer in a road accident

GNS JAMMU :J&K Police today lost a young and promising boxer, Rahul Sharma, who died in a road accident this morning while moving in a Mini-bus to attend a coaching camp at Gulshan Ground, Jammu.Having credit of beating an Olympian to win gold in the All India Police meet held in Jammu last year,Rahul had a bright future ahead. Death of this young boxer of just 21 years old spread a shock wave among those associated with sports directly or indirectly.Absorbed in the J&K Police as Special Police Officer (SPO), Rahul’s name was already recommended for the post of Constable to the higher ups. Soon after getting the shocking news, officers of the sports wing of the J&K Police reached the hospital and made the arrangements for shifting the body to his native place of Poonch .

PDP says Assembly cannot skip duty to discuss corruption, moves adjournment

GNS JAMMU :  Piqued at the persistent attitude of apathy by  ruling alliance towards public issues of importance , the Peoples Democratic Party has again decided to press  adjournment of normal business of assembly  to discuss and debate the issue of corruption having seriously put the entire democratic system in jeopardy. The legislature party which met here under its leader Mehbooba Mufti at her official residence made it abundantly clear that the situation arising out of latest developments in which Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues have been slapped notices by statutory bodies  , it is imperative on the Assembly in session to debate this surcharging  issue of public ramifications.  The party felt that adjournment was the best course where the high functionaries in question could be made accountable at least , in the interest of very survival of the system , in which unfortunately the people are loosing confidence in increased measure.
