GNS Jammu, November :Jawaharlal Nehru’s 122 nd Birth Anniversary was solemnized at Congress Headquarters Jammu today. A large number of Congress functionaries & workers attended and paid floral tributes to Jawaharlal Nehru’s memory. Prof. Saifuddin Soz-MP (President JKPCC) presided over the function. Senior leaders of the party participated in the demonstrations. The main demonstration was held at Jammu which was led by PDP president Mehbooba Mufti in which hundreds of party workers were present.Addressing the workers, PDP chief said that due to non existence of a working government, the responsibility of PDP has increased manifold. Years of staying in the country have taught him that very few windows open in sombre relations between the two countries. But whenever there is even a small aperture, it should be used fully. Therefore, Malik was quick to remove the misunderstanding on Pakistan's decision to extend the Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India. The impression on the Indian end was that Pakistan was dragging its feet after announcing the MFN status. He said that "there is no question of a U-turn about it". Living as we are in the mine fields of hate and terror spread around and people with triggers in their hands ready to pull them, any time anywhere, one can't wish away this law. Its desirability, though not welcome, can't be questioned at this stage. But then the hard fact remains.The PSA has some measures in it which, in the present scenario of activism for the respect of human rights and transparency, look a bit incongruous.
