Prof. Saif-u-Din Soz is man of conscious

BY : SHAFIQ MIR Present JKPCC chief and member Rajya Sabha, Prof. Saif-u-Din Soz came  to limelight in 1998 at national politics of India, when he had brought down Atal Bihari Vajpayee government at centre with his onevote. In fact, no confidence motion was presented in the parliament by  then opposition party and while proving its majority on the floor of the house, BJP government led by Atal Bihaari Vajpayee was short of only one vote .  National Conference of Jammu and Kashmir was ally of BJP at that time and it had directed its all MPs to vote for BJP including Prof. Soz who was NC MP by then but he refused party dictate and did against . It is said that Soz came to limelight only due to his one vote which he used properly . GNS Jammu : Charging Omar Abdullah led coalition regime with adopting pick and choose policy in treating different regions and areas of the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)  demanded that residents of border  areas of Samba district should also be treated like residents of other border areas. Addressing a public meeting at Vijaypur, PDP leaders pointed out that state government has allotted plots to border residents of Khour area but same pattern has not been adopted for the residents of other border areas especially the Samba. They said that instead of treating all regions equally, this government has been adopting pick and choose policy. They warned that PDP would launch an agitation if border residents of Samba district were treated at par with the residents of Khour. Vijaypur Congress Committee hold Meet

GNS Vijaypur:     A  meeting  of  Block  Congress Committee Vijaypur  was held at Vijaypur  under the chairmanship of Thakur Hari Singh-Vice President JKPCC. While speaking in the meeting Thakur Hari Singh said that the people of the Vijaypur block are facing great hardships due to long scheduled and unscheduled cuts in the power supply and poor drinking water supply has made the living of people miserable. The old poles and wirings is the main reason of power disruption and the old water pipes and faulty motors is the reason of drinking water crises. He urged upon the concerned authorities to immediately replace the old wires and water pipes and faulty infrastructure and provide uninterrupted power and regular water supply to the people of the areas. Govt. fails to send 20 doctors for training to run super specialty hospital

By Tahir Mushtaq  GNS JAMMU, : State government has still failed to send nearly 20 doctors for specialised training at AIIMS New Delhi and PGI Chandigarh, to man the upcoming super specialty hospital in Jammu.  Sources said that the project has been drafted for the training of existing doctors for super specialty treatment, assumes a greater significance to keep the human resource available at the very initial stage.  Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Gulam Nabi Azad announced that a 4-member team of senior doctors two from AIIMS and two from PGI Chandigarh shall visit the state for formulation of guidelines for the training of appropriate number of existing doctors for such specialized disciplines.  It is pertinent to mention here that the government has already missed deadlines for the functioning of the said hospital several times before. And the hospital will have six super specialties, including Cardiology, Cardio Thoracic Surgery, Urology, Neurology, Ne
