Nasir for providing platform to budding artists

GNS JAMMU : Appreciating the talent of Young artists of the State, Minister of State for Tourism, Home, PHE, H&UD and Revenue, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani has called for providing a Platform to the youth of J&K for tapping their hidden talent in a better way. The Minister was addressing the concluding function of “5-days State young Artist Painter Camp” organised by   J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages at Kala Kendra.   The Camp was held from 31 January to 4th Feb, 2012 in which 16 young artists across the state participated. Mr Nasir said that government is exploring every possibility to provide opportunity to the youth at state and national level to prove their capability. He asked the Cultural Academy to work for channelizing the talent of artists in art, music and other activities as it is its basic mandate. Omar visits Hazratbal shrine

GNS SRINAGAR : Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Saturday visited Dargah, Hazratbal and reviewed the arrangements put in place by the administration and the Waqaf Board for the Holy occasion of Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW). The Chief Minister paid obeisance at the shrine, prayed for peace and prosperity of the State and interacted with Zaireen. He directed the Waqaf Board and the officers of divisional administration to ensure all facilities to Zaireen during Milad days. He laid stress on ensuring cleanliness, power and water supply and adequate transport for the people. Omar Abdullah also received brief about the arrangements made for Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) and development programmes under implementation in the area for beautification and upgradation of facilities, at a meeting of Waqaf Board there. GNS SRINAGAR, FEBRUARY 04 – Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah has felicitated people on Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) wishing them happiness and prosperity. In a greeting’s message issued here today, the Chief Minister said that the Birthday of Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW) provides us opportunity to pray and seek forgiveness and blessings from the Almighty for the entire mankind. “Let the day be harbinger of peace and development for the State and the Country”, Omar prayed.

Jammu will soon get 40 km-long four-lane bypass

GNS JAMMU :The winter capital will soon get a 40km-long four-lane bypass built at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore to help ease traffic congestion. The Samba-Jammu southern bypass project, to be built at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore, is in offing to deal with traffic congestion and provide better transport facility, Minister of State for Road and Buildings Javed Ahmad Dar said here. The road, starting from Raya Morh in Samba district on Pathankot-Jammu National Highway will touch the villages of Bishnah, R S Pura border town, while Diyaren village in Jammu will be its last point. The land survey of the project has already been completed, he said. Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioners will start early acquisition process of the land coming under the project, he said. As many as 15 small and major bridges will be constructed to complete the first phase of the project, the Minister said. The second phase of the road will be extended up to Nagrota for which another 20-km road
