PDP holds strong demonstration against LAWDA for its discriminatory functioning

GNS Srinagar, April 25 :  Peoples Democratic party (PDP) today held a strong demonstration against the discriminatory functioning of Lakes and Water ways development authority (LAWDA) at its office in Nishat. A large number of party workers led by District president and MLC Mohd Ashraf Mir protested against  its inability of the Lake authority to conduct its operations in evenhanded , legal and judicious manner. The demonstrators Garowed the office of LAWDA and displayed photographes of the farm house belonging to a bareucrate that is coming up in the highly eco-sensitive Dachigam area. The placial building is being constructed in close vicinity of the world famous Dachigam sanctuary which is the house to the highly threatened Hangul apart from many other rare species. PDP condemns police action on Panches and Sarpanches in Anantnag

GNS Srinagar,April 25 :  Peoples Democratic party today condemned the official highhandedness  in denying permission to a body of Panches and Sarpanches to hold a conference in government Dak Banglow Anantnag. A spokesman of the party said that this was yet another instance of the NC led governments arrogance and intollerence of democratic institutions. The Panch body called as J&K Panchayati Raaj Movement which cuts across party affiliation had planned to hold a day long conference at Khanabal and had even made the booking of the hall as provided under rules. But, at the last moment the administration denied the permission and deployed police to disperse the participants. The spokesman said the Panches and Sarpanches  are exercising their democratic right in demanding empowerment of the Panchayat institutions.
