BJP leaders n workers joined PDP

GNS ,Jammu 29th September, 2011: In a significant development prominent leader of BJP Mrs. Geeta Thakur along-with hundreds of workers namely, Mrs. Santosh Kumari, Mrs. Geeta Sharma & Mrs. Chanchala Devi & others met Jenab Mufti Mohd Sayed & joined PDP with his blessings while reposing full faith in the leadership & assured him that the party programs will be taken to the people. Their joining was motivated by senior PDP leader Capt. Anil Gour. In the same function prominent Social Workers Sh. Reposing full faith on the policies program of People Democratic Party

GNS ,Jammu 29th September, 2011: Reposing full faith on the policies and program of People Democratic Party several persons, prominent among them Avtar Singh, Vishal Dhotra, Gharu Ram Bhagat, Rohit Charak, Surjit Phounsa, Ram Murti etc. of Vilages Sarore, Karyal and Ratnal joined PDP in a simple and impressive function at Sarore before Mr. Som Nath Dogra, a senior leader of PDP. While welcoming them Mr. Dogra assured them that our party will do its utmost to solve the problems of the people of Rural areas. He also said that his party will take care of farmers to get seed and fertilizer at appropriate time. He urged them to whole heartedly support and strengthen the People Democratic party. On this occasion Sagar Singh sarpanch, Chaman Lal Panch, Beli Ram and Gurdas Lal prominent persons of the area were also present.

PDP workers meeting held

GNS ,Jammu, the 23rd September, 2011: A meeting of PDP workers was held at Katyal (R.S.Pura) under the Chairmanship of Mrs. Shanti Devi, President, PDP Mahila Wing, who was accompanied by Anita Devi, District President, PDP, Mahila Wing, Samba, Nirmal Kaur, Rajinder Kaur, Surinder Kaur, Kamal Sharma, Maheshwar, Dhian Singh etc. In the meeting on the pursuation of Asha Devi and Balwant Kaur and convinced by the policies and programmes of PDP more than three hundred ladies and gents of the area joined PDP. At the time of joining Asha Devi and Balwant Kaur said the people of the area have felt that the PDP is the only Party in the State who can solve the problems of the people of the rural areas and farmers. Alarm! power bill to cross Rs 2507 this fiscal year

Tahir Mushtaq JAMMU, Sep 28: There has been whopping increase of Rs 1036 crore in power purchase bill of Jammu and Kashmir in past eight years, with power bill likely to cross Rs 2507 crore during current year. According to the data, from 2002-2010 period, the power bill has shown constant rise, pushing J&K under the debt trap of Rs 250 crore alone. Even the laxity on the part of Power Development Department (PDD) has also contributed in less revenue generation from the consumers, forcing Northern Grid to issue regular warning to the state government for last four years, to reform this sector. It is pertinent to mention here that the power purchase bill during the year 2009 alone (January 2009 to December 2009) was Rs 2351.95 crore. Data says that in Jammu region, unrestricted demand is 1250 MW, while in Kashmir valley this demand is 1450 MW, which comes to about 2700 MW.
