Parvez Tak remanded till August 4 in Laila Khan murder case

A local court today remanded Parvez Tak, accused of murdering starlet Laila Khan and five of her family at their farmhouse in Nashik district, in judicial custody till August 4. Tak was earlier in police custody which expired today. A native of Jammu and Kashmir's Kishtwar town, Tak is accused of kidnapping and killing Laila and five other family members at the farmhouse. On July 11, the Crime Branch had recovered six skeletons, believed to be those of Laila, her mother Shelina (52), sisters Zara (25) and Azmina (32), brother Imran (25) and cousin Reshma Khan (19), from the Igatpuri bungalow after Tak had confessed to their killings. A preliminary forensic report has revealed that five of the six human remains found near the farmhouse were of women. Pieces of jewellery, some synthetic clothing and underclothing were found on the skeletons.

Governor DGP Meet at Raj Bhavan,

ASHOK PRASAD ASSUMED AS NEW DGP J&K, CALLED ON GOVERNOR AND CHIEF MINISTER

GNS Srinagar, July 23 :  Mr. Ashok Prasad, an Andra Pradesh 1979 cadre IPS officer assumed as new Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir here this afternoon. On his arrival to Police Headquarters (PHQ) he was received by Additional Directors General of Police Mr. K. Rajendra Kumar, Mr. P. L Gupta, Dr. Ram Lubhaya and Dr. S. P. Vaid and other senior police officers.  The new DGP was presented a colourful guard of honour by the contingents of Armed Police at PHQ lawns. He inspected the guard of honour and was given a warm welcome by the PHQ staff.Mr. Prasad born in 1956 in Bihar was inducted in IPS Andhra Pradesh Cadre in 1979. He has served in different categories in different States including Punjab and Naxal hit States. MLA Mendhar Demanded Compensation of Paddy Crops to the farmers.

GNS JAMMU  JULY .23:Former Minister and MLA Mendhar Sardar Rafiq Hussain Khan in his Press statement stated that the present coalition led by the Omar Abdullaha government  policy was totally against  the farmers and not serious towards there problems.
