Mehbooba expresses shock

GNS Srinagar , Dec : Expressing her deep shock over death of Tariq Ahmed Bhat, a shopkeeper of downtown, Mehbooba Mufti president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today demanded strong action against those who were responsible for his death. In a statement issued here today, Mehbooba Mufti said that coercion has no place in the society and we condemned strongly the way Tariq is reported to have injured in the broad day light which ultimately led to his unfortunate death. She said that politics can not be enforced through use of strong arm methods and those responsible for Tariq’s tragic death must be brought to book. She conveyed her deep sympathy to the family of Tariq and prayed for the peace of eternal. 

DC Excise to inquire Raji's nexus in liquor trad

GNS  JAMMU, Dec :   Excise Commissioner Vineeta Gupta has directed Deputy Commissioner Excise (Executive) Onkar Nath to hold an inquiry as to how 14 wine shops have been allotted within one family, some of which were running without No Objection Certificate (NOC) or forged NOC. “Though there are some legal lacunas, the Excise Department was taking legal opinion to look into all aspects of the allotment to find out whether 14 wine shops besides two liquor depots and one bottling plant could be allotted within one family’’, official sources said. They said the Deputy Commissioner (Executive) has been asked to probe the nexus leading to allotment of 14 wine shops, two liquor depots and one bottling plant within the family of Raj Daluja alias Raji, the Editor of State Times, creating a monopoly in the trade especially that of a person, who had very strong criminal background. GNS JAMMU The Crime Branch of J&K Police has produced challan in Case FIR No.25/2009 u/s 420, 465, 467, 468, 120-B RPC r/w section 5(2) P.C Act Svt. 2006 P/S Crime Branch, Jammu against the accused persons Paras Ram S/o Dharmu, Mangat Ram S/o Dharmu, Devi Ditta S/o Paras Ram, Kuldeep Kumar S/o Mangat Ram, Ramesh Kumar S/o Paras Ram all residents of Badrore, Jammu and Girdhari Lal R/o Trikuta Nagar, Jammu for preparing / obtaining / issuing fake Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs).  Brief facts of the case are that Dr. Sarabjit Singh S/o S. Hargovind Singh R/o Gandhi Nagar, Jammu had lodged a complaint against the above mentioned accused persons for obtaining fake PRCs by fraudulent means from revenue authorities.
