Internet slows down in J & K as social network sites face partial censorship

SRINAGAR: In a bid to prevent trouble, the government ensured the  internet  speeds go down in Kashmir. While the social networking sites have been rolled back to the cell phone users, even those using computers are facing crippling issues owing to lowing speed.  "We follow the directions of the government and that has sought blocking the social networking sites," a middle run official of the Airtel, not authorized to speak said. "We are just implementing the directions."  State's home department issued an order on September 22 asking cell phone and internet services providers to block downloading and uploading of an  anti-Islamic film   Innocence of Muslims . GNS   Srinagar ,  Oct 02:  Fearing  the  government  may  sabotage  its  bill  on  empowerment  of Panchayat  Raj  system;  Peoples  Democratic  Party  (PDP)  president Mehbooba Mufti  today displayed  in  front  of  media  her  party’s  bill   on the  subject  duly  endorsed by the secretary Legislative Assembly. PDP submits adjournment motion on LPG crisis; gives notice on killings of Panchayat representatives

GNS Srinagar , Sep 2:  The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has submitted an adjournment motion to press the government on the crisis caused by disappearance of LPG which is threatening the entire society in the state. The government has reportedly decided to issue only 3 LPG subsidized cylinders for the remaining part of current year with a price of unsubsidized LPG cylinder fixed at Rs 920. Earlier the government had said the unsubsidized LPG cylinder would cost Rs 720. The PDP has decided to take up the issue on the House and outside as it realizes that in absence of any other alternative fuel, LPG is the most essential commodity needed by every house.
