Exemption of Sales Tax on the agriculture Purpose Demanded . Thakur

GNS JAMMU APRIL 29 : Thakur Hari Singh-Vice President PCC demanded exemption of Sales Tax on the agriculture machines/instruments used by the farming community and uninterrupted electricity to the farmers, especially during harvesting season. In a press statement  Thakur Hari Singh  said that the government is charging heavy Sales Tax on the agriculture related machinery/instruments like Tractors, Thrashers, Harvesters and their spare parts used by the farming community.   He said there is great differences of prices of these items sold in Jammu & Kashmir and in Punjab. The farmers prefer to buy these items from Punjab but they are not being spared by the Sales Tax authorities at Lakhanpur. Taj Mohi-Ud-Din and Ravinder Sharma-MLC toured Nowshera and Sunderbani

Sunderbani, April 29: Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Taj Mohi-Ud-Din accompanied by Mr. Ravinder Sharma-MLC toured Nowshera and Sunderbani tehsils of Rajouri district and took stock of the drinking and irrigation problems of people. They also took stock of the various on going PHE and Irrigation schemes, today. In a meeting with Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens at Dak Banglow Sunderbani, the minister discussed the demands of the area which were highlighted by MLC Ravinder Sharma and other representatives of the area. Govt indulged into deceit tactics to deny powers to Panchayats: Mufti

GNS Jammu, April 29: Charging National Conference led coalition regime with eroding sanctity of all democratic institutions, patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohamamd Sayeed today rejected the logic given by the government for delaying the process of empowering Panchyati Raj Institutions in the State. “Almost one year has been passed after completion of the Panchayat elections but neither Block nor District Committees have been constituted so far. Govt. may close down schools, where enrollment of students is falling

Of separatists and stray dogs

By  Naseer A Ganai GNS JAMMU...: Latest discourse in Kashmir is stray dogs. And all of sudden people are suggesting why separatists are not raising their voices against ninety one thousand, one hundred and ten stray dogs which have been let loose on Kashmiris. Chief Justice, Justice Khalifullah while hearing case about stray dogs raised a point when the State Government pressed for their sterilisation. He asked whether dogs will stop biting if they are sterilised. Srinagar Municipal Corporation has so far failed to come up with answer to this question but it went ahead with the construction of multi crore dog pounds. In these pounds, dogs will be sterilised, given good food and they will have care takers.  This is the plan of the State to tackle problem of stray dogs. The same State which failed to answer query of the Chief Justice. Now in case separatist leaders raise voice against stray dogs, will that change situation on the ground.
