Taj Mohi-Ud-Din and Ravinder Sharma-MLC toured Nowshera and Sunderbani


Sunderbani, April 29:Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Taj Mohi-Ud-Din accompanied by Mr. Ravinder Sharma-MLC toured Nowshera and Sunderbani tehsils of Rajouri district and took stock of the drinking and irrigation problems of people. They also took stock of the various on going PHE and Irrigation schemes, today.
In a meeting with Sarpanchs, Panchs and prominent citizens at Dak Banglow Sunderbani, the minister discussed the demands of the area which were highlighted by MLC Ravinder Sharma and other representatives of the area.
The Minister issued on spot directions to the senior officers to take necessary steps for mitigating the problems of people.  He assured to provide liberal funds to Nowshera-Sunderbani tehsils in order to improve the drinking and irrigation water facility in the area.  
Speaking on the occasion Mr. Sharma said that the Beripattan lift irrigation scheme at the estimated cost of Rs. 51.08 crore which has been sanctioned by the government will irrigate 34000 kanals of land. He also said that the irrigation project for Liki Tala and Chhajja at the cost of Rs. 99 lacs and Rs 51 lacs which have also been sanctioned would benefit a large population of tehsil Sunderbani.
He also disclosed that Rs. 5788.05 lacs were provided under AIBP Scheme and Rs. 214.64 lacs were provided under NABARD Scheme for the development of the Nowshera-Sunderbani tehsils.
Mr. Sharma said that the kandi belt of Nowshera-Sunderbani tehsils is still facing  acute shortage of drinking and irrigation water facility and demanded launching of more water supply schemes, deep wells and hand pumps to mitigate these problems.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships.
