Evolve national consensus to solve Kashmir Problem: Mufti

GNS Jammu, July 17 (IANS) Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed Tuesday underlined the need to evolve a national consensus to solve the Kashmir problem "through democratic means". Addressing a public gathering in Inshan, a mountainous area in Kishtwar district about 250 km from here, Mufti said dialogue was the only way to solve all problems peacefully. "Political parties of the country, including the ruling UPA (United Progressive Alliance) and other opposition groups, have to realise that solution of Kashmir problem is must for the lasting peace in this region", he said. "It is the duty of all parties to lend support to any fresh initiative to solve this problem," he said. GNS JAMMU, July 17: Pawan Raina, former senior vice president J&K youth congress and Sarpanch panchyat Kharian today started the construction work of lane at village Kharian with the estimated cost of Rs 10 lacs. De-addition center at Amphalla hospital, defunct for last three years

BY TAHIR MUSHTAQ GNS JAMMU, July 17: Notwithstanding the tall claims of state government that a number of steps are being taken to eradicate the menace of drugs addiction, the lone drug de-addiction centre of winter capital at Government Psychiatry Hospital is lying defunct for the past three years.  According to the sources this the drug de-addiction center was establish to cure the drug addicted people of the region but due to one reason or the other the concern department is unable to make it fully functional from long time.  Sources further said that there is a acute shortage of such centres running by the state government so government should come forward to help the needy people who wants to leave the bad addictions of smoking and drinking.  They further revealed that private doctors provide only consultation which is not helpful to get them out of drug addiction as proper care, 24 hour supervision and specialized staff and doctors are the basic requirements which s
