TAC suggests severe punishment for overloading in vehicles

GNS JAMMU, FEB  22 :  Reconstituted State Transport Advisory Committee (TAC) met here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Transport Mr Qamar Ali Akhoon and deliberated on various issues related to regulation of traffic system in the State. After threadbare discussions on wide ranging issues, TAC suggested severe punishment against those who indulge in overloading in both goods carriage and passenger vehicles. The  meeting further suggested that licenses shall be issued only to those who get training from 59 government registered Driving Training Institutes.   It was also given out that the center has agreed to establish State of Art Driving Training Institute over 100 kanals of land one each in Kashmir and Jammu provinces. Omar lauds Taing’s contribution to literature, politics

GNS JAMMU, FEB 22  : Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today lauded the contribution of noted, writer and critic Mohammad Yusuf Taing in the field of art and literature describing him as an important pillar of the literary field. Releasing the Special Number of Sheeraza on the life and achievements of Mr. Taing, Omar Abdullah said that he held the fort with all his enthusiasm and dedication and continues to do so even now despite being involved actively in public life and politics. PDP asks Govt to rectify defective delimitation of JMC wards

GNS Jammu, Feb 22: Charging National Conference led coalition regime with conducting irrational delimitation of wards in Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today said that the party would see to it till the discrepancies are not removed before announcing elections of the civic bodies.  Party observed that deserving areas of the Jammu city have been deliberately ignored while carving out new cards of JMC, reasons best known to the ruling party. Sad story of young Danish from Uri:

By S News   GNS KASHMIR :Syed Danish Ali Naqvi, a resident of Kamalkote, Uri in Baramullah District had migrated to Lucknow four months back after completing his graduation from the local degree college. Naqvi was pursuing his studies for MBA but was also preparing for IAS examination, according to reports appearing in vernacular media. He was living in a rented accommodation in Sarfarazgunj area, with two colleagues.  At around 10 p.m on January 31, he left for drawing money from the local ATM, but never returned. His roommates and one of his relatives from Delhi started searching Wing for him. Later, a group of construction labourers traced the young man hanging from a tree in the nursery of Era’s Lucknow Medical College and Hospital. Police seized the body and traced his J&K Bank card with Rs 10,080 that he had withdrawn.
