Promises of national Conference led Coalition Government not fulfilled

GNS JAMMU 5 th  December, : Mr Shakir Siddiqui, Senior leader PDP OF District Kishtwar said that the promises made by the national Conference led Coalition Government at the time of 2008 Elections have not fulfilled so far. This Government has failed on all fronts particularly it has no clear cut policy for the unemployed Educated Youth who were promised at the time of Election that they all will be given suitable employment and even announced that Middle Pass Youth of far flung areas shall also be accommodated in Police and other Paramilitary Forces. But all promised made remained in air only. Punish erring BEd colleges, then think of counseling once more

By Ajmair Wani GNS JAMMU:  The National Secular Forum (NSF) has asked the Jammu University (JU) not to go for BEd admissions as the Forum of BEd Colleges was pressing it hard for the same. Instead, JU should take action against the erring colleges and think of opening counseling once again. Addressing a press conference, NSF president Vikas Sharma said, "BEd colleges committed number of irregularities during the last academic session. University had ordered inquiry to unearth those irregularities. But so far nothing has come out. BEd colleges have made the mockery of the system. They indulge in large scale irregularities and at the same time asking for admissions to fill their seats." He advised JU administration to apply Carrot and Stick Policy with the BEd colleges. This market is believed to have been constructed by the Maharaja Ranbhir Singh in 1806, in an era when merchandise was transported on bullock carts to many Mandis (wholesale markets) of South Asia through the Jhelum Valley road (now called Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road). The market falls in the congested area of the Downtown area of Srinagar city on the banks of River Jhelum and houses more than 2000 shops. 14359 hectares forest land under encroached by land sharks in Jammu and Kashmir

By   J&K Monitor  GNS JAMMU:  14,359 hectares of forest land has been encroached upon in Jammu and Kashmir by land sharks. The data revealed that in just last two years a total 9282 hectors of land was encroached upon, whereas, only 15 hectares of area could be cleared from the land grabbers. On the contrary only 64 hectares of forest land in Jammu and 944 hectares in Kashmir have been retrieved from the encroacher’s in past few years. As per the sources, despite tall claims by the government to take action against the encroachers, in Kashmir valley 4,877 hectares is under the encroachers while 9,482 hectares in Jammu region has been galloped by the land mafia under the very nose of the administration. The figures provided by the sources indicate that maximum encroachment has taken place in Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch districts in Jammu region and Anantnag, Pahalgam, Shopian, Jhelum Valley, Lidder, Tangmarg in Kashmir.
