PDP demands Daetwas Canal, restoration of defunct PHE schemes in Bandipur

Srinagar, May 3 :::  Critisizing the government for its inability to respond to the developmental needs of Bandipur, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) today called for immediate  grant of technical clearance to Daetiwas irrigation project. In a statement Chief Spokesperson of the party Naeem Akhtar and senior leader Nizamudin Bhat MLA today said it seems that the government was deliberately  sitting over the proposal of construction  of Daetiwas canal which could irrigate large tracts of land in Aragam, Garoora, Chitibandi, Brar and Gund Dachina areas. They said the detailed project report (DPR) for the project has been completed long back and is awaiting technical clearance from the concerned Minister who apparently is delaying it for political reasons. Minister takes stock of people’s problems

                                         GNS Katra, May 3 : Minister of State for Haj and Auqaf Aijaz Ahmed Khan today conducted a public darbar at Arnas to listen to public grievances and their demands. Speaking on the occasion, Aijaz said the government was aware of the problems being faced by the people of hilly areas and several measures were being taken to mitigate these. He ask ed the people to cooperate with the government so that development programmes could yield optimum results. The people of the area highlighted their demands and grievances. Kashmir incomplete without Pandits: Shabir Shah

GNS SRINAGAR : Kashmir is a garden and there  are many flowers in Separatist leader Shabir Shah on Thursday said Kashmir Valley is incomplete without Pandits and those who migrated after the eruption of militancy should return to their homeland. "Kashmiri Pandits have always been a part of our culture and our history . here Kashmir is incomplete without the Pandits. Kashmiri Pandits should come back to their homes," Shah told reporters here. The Kashmiri Pandits left their homes in early 1990, months after militancy broke out in the Valley. Though some have returned, many are still living in camps in Jammu.                        GNS Jammu, May 03: The National Secular Forum (NSF) University Unit today held strong protest demonstration against the Centre/ State Govt. for next Director General of the J&K Police be appointed from J&K Cadre only.
