Nasir visited Chanpora, asks Additional Commissioner to assess damage

GNS SRINAGAR, MAY 21: Minister of state for Home, PHE, H&UD, Tourism and Revenue, Mr. Nasir Aslam Wani visited Rose Lane colony Chanpora to express sympathies to the affected families whose property was damaged due to fire incident yesterday. In this incident 4 residential houses were gutted.  The Minister was accompanied by Additional Commissioner Kashmir, besides other senior officers of different departments. During the visit, the Minister asked the Additional Commissioner to assess the damage of gutted structures immediately so that necessary relief be provided to affected people.  Meanwhile, the Red Cross Committee also visited the affected families and provided relief to them.

Rejuvenate CICs as information hub: Omar

GNS SRINAGAR, MAY 21 – Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Monday highlighted the need for  rejuvenating Community Information Centres (CICs) to make them hub of Information collection and dissemination. He director for merging their functioning with the established Panchayat Raj System in the state. Addressing a high level meeting to discuss the issue of strengthening and upgrading CICs here, the Chief Minister asked the Information Technology and Rural Development Departments to jointly work out a viable model to use the CICs as block centres for dissemination of vital information to the people in rural areas particularly agriculturists. Karnah depicts depressing picture of govt’s inefficiency: PDP

GNS Srinagar, May 21 : Peoples Democratic Party today lashed at the coalition government headed by National Conference for ignoring the far flung areas, which continue to suffer in the absence of even the basic amenities of life.
