Nasir calls upon civil society to supplement govt’s conservation efforts

                                              GNS JAMMU, APRIL 18:- Asking the civil society to play its role in preserving the glorious heritage of the state, Minister of State for Tourism, culture, Home, PHE, revenue and H&UD, Mr Nasir Aalam Wani today said the coalition government has taken various ambitious projects in hand with central funding for the preservation and restoration of heritage sites across the state. The Minister said this while inaugurating twin function on World Heritage Day at Kala kendra and Mubrak Mandi Jammu. These include  one day special exhibition on “world famous Basoli Miniature paintings of Rasmanjari series, rarer manuscripts and Historical Documents” and  5-day All India Painting competition   organised by Department of Archaeology and Museum and Jammu & Kashmir  Academy of Art, Culture and Languages respectively. Ragini Rainu marks the first ever Sufi concert at Sankat Mochan, Varanasi

                                                    GNS JAMMU APR,18 :The young Sufi songstress of India, Ragini Rainu, got the honour of presenting the first ever Sufi music recital at the country’s top most festival – the Sankat Mochan Sangeet Samaroh at Varanasi. The five day long over night festival is the country’s calendar music festival which has features the greats if Indian classical music for decades together. People from various parts of the country and abroad come and visit Varanasi around this music festival time to listen to some of the best musicians of India. This year the festival featured legends like Pt. Bhajan Sopori (Santoor), Pt. Jasraj, Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, Pt. Rajan-Sajan Mishra (Vocal), Pt. Birju Maharaj (Dance), Pt.
