Mysterious murder case worked out, one held

GNS Jammu February 8th : Displaying high professionalism , Ramban police today worked out a blind murder of one Gian Singh S/o Ishar Dass R/o Bhata Telimagra Ramban by arresting the main accused being involved in the heinous crime. The accused has been identified as Nazir Ahmed S/o Salam Din R/o Silla Seri, Ramban.Reports said that on Decembe r 27th, 2012 a body of one Gian Singh S/o Ishar Dass R/o Bhata Telimagra, Ramban was recovered from a Nallah near Silla village with multiple injuries and inquest proceedings U/S 174 Cr.PC was initiated as some foul play was suspected from the spot.During inquiry SP Ramban Sh. Anil Magotra Constituted a special team of some police officers. Subsequently during investigations it was found that on the fateful day the deceased was carrying cash of Rs. 8,000/- and had boarded a vehicle from Ramban to Telimagra along with other passengers, from where he had to proceed on foot to his native village. 88 stranded passengers airlifted in Bandipora

GNS BANDIPORA, FEBRUARY 08: As many as 88 stranded passengers including four babies were airlifted in Bandipora today.According to Tehsildar Bandipora 41 passengers including one child were airlifted from Bandipora to Dawar while as 47 passengers including three babies brought to Bandipora from Dawar Gurez. He said that due to closure of Bandipora-Gurez road, air sorties are being put into service in order to take the stranded passengers to their destinations.

GA Mir inaugurates Solar power plant, lays foundation of TIC at Gulmarg

GNS GULMARG, FEBRUARY 8:-Minister for Tourism, Ghulam Ahmad Mir, on Friday inaugurated Solar Power plant besides laying foundation of Tourist Information Center at world famous tourist resort Gulmarg. The 400 KVA Solar Power Plant has been installed at a cost of Rs.5.30 crore, ninety percent of which has been provided  by the Union Ministry for Energy and Renewable. Besides, the Tourist Information Center would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 30 lakh and will have all modern facilities for the tourists. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that ensuring enhanced facilities to the tourists is endeavour of the government, for which, several programmes are being implemented. The Minister underscored the need for time bound completion of all ongoing projects taken up to upgrade the infrastructure facilities at various spots for convenience of visiting tourists. GNS JAMMU, FEBRUARY 08- To execute the work of laying of XLPE Cable under ERA, the power supply to the MES Domana, Patoli, Barnai, Muthi, Vinayak Nagar Muthi, Lower Muthi, Lower Barnai, Gurah Brahmana, Gurah Keran, TV Tower-Patoli, Machelia & Domana and adjoining areas fed from 33 KV Janipur-Muthi and 11 KV J-6 Feeder emanating from 33/11 KV Janipur Receiving Station will r emain affected on 10th February, 2013 from 10 am to 1 pm.Meanwhile, to carry out replacement of worn out/ damaged jumpers and rectification of hot spots/ weak points on the line and routine maintenance of 220 MVA, 220/132 KV Grid Station Barn, the shut down of 220 KV D/C Barn-Kishenpur Transmission Line on 10-2-2013 from 9 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. is allowed. As intimated by Chief Engineer, S&O Wing Jammu, during the shut down period, the power supply to District Reasi, Akhnoor, Bhalwal, Jagti, Jourian, Gharota areas besides areas being fed from Pouni Chak, Janipur and Canal Grid Stations shall be affected.

Non-bailable warrant against Nayeem Khan executed Court remands him to Judicial Custody

GNS Srinagar, February 08: Sub-Judge Pattan remands Nayeem Khan to judicial custody and was shifted to Central Jail Srinagar. Police executed a non-bailable warrant issued by Hon’ble Sub-Judge, Pattan against Nayeem Khan. A case FIR No: 5/2000 under section 13 ULA was registered in Police Station Pattan agai nst Nayeem Khan. The Challan of the case was produced in the court of Sub-Judge Pattan in the year 2008.Hon’ble Court had issued a non-bailable warrant against him which was executed today by police and he was produced before the Hon’ble Court. The Court remanded him to Judicial custody and on the directions of the court he was shifted to Central Jail, Srinagar.

Sufi, Violin and Classical Vocal music mesmerize

GNS JAMMU FEB,08 :The 8 th   Annual SaMaPa Aalap Festival 2013 being presented in collaboration with the   Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, J&K Police and Department of Tourism, Jammu featured mesmerizing concerts by Sufi sensation Ragini Rainu, Violinst Pt. Santosh Nahar & Vocalist Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan. The concerts on Day 8 of the festival were held at Gandhi Memorial College of Education, Bantalab, Raipur. Prof. G. Mustafa Shah, Dean, College Development Council, University of Kashmir was the Chief Guest and Shri Anil Dhar, President, Hindu Education Society, was the Guest of Honour on the occasion. He felicitated the performing artists with bouquets. Santoor Maestro and Composer Abhay Rustum Sopori was also present on the occasion and spoke about the need of having such functions on regular basis. He said that the festival acts like a sugar coated capsule which will leave its mark in the years to come creating a new generation of performers and music connoisseurs.

PCC General Secretary criticized NC leader and MLA Dr. Mustafa Kamal for propaganda against the Congress party
