SSA a failed scheme in J&K Funds blocked due to non-utilization by the CEOs

By Tahir Mushtaq GNS JAMMU, May 22 : Thousand of students have been deprived from the basic facilities due to the negligence of Chief Education Officers (CEO)s as funds sanctioned by government for streamlined the education structure have been blocked due to non utilization in a specific time period.  According to the sources, the negligence on the part of some some CEOs in implementing Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), the funds remained unutilized in their accounts.  Sources further civic amenities in the schools especially in Jammu have not been provided despite the fact that Chief Minister had already sanctioned Rs 20 lakh as special grant.  Committee constituted by the government has said that lack of coordination between the respective CEOs and higher officials in the education department was main reason for the delay in implementation of the plan.  “This was also the main reason for upholding the funds and head under which these funds had been kept along with the funds

BSF School felicitates players

GNS JAMMU, MAY 22: With the aim to honour sportspersons, BSF School Jammu organised a felicitation programme in the school premises, here today. Dr S S Khokhar, Principal BSF School honoured the students of the school who brought laurels by winning medals in the recently concluded2 nd  District Jammu Jeet Kune-do-Championship. District Jammu Jeet Kune-do-Association under the aegis of J&K Jeet Kune-do-Association had organized. Sahil Sharma, Om Balowria and Aryan Manhas clinched gold medal while Shivam Balowria, Manik Sharma and Vansveer Singh bagged silver medal in the said championship. Jaipal won bronze in the championship. While speaking on the occasion, Khokhar stressed upon the students to work hard for clinching medals at national and international levels. Headmistress Gaytri Kotwal, PET Rameshwar Singh were also present on the occasion. 

Baba Ghulam Badshah Shadrah Sharief Road is totally dilapidated condition

By Arif Qureshi GNS RAJOURI MAY 22 : Road that connects the famous shrine Baba Ghulam Badshah (BGSB) Shadrah Sharief is totally in dilapidated condition, authorities mum over the issue.  The road condition leading to famous pilgrim site Baba Ghulam Shah Badashah Shahdara sharief is in such a dilapidated condition that itself expose the tall claims of the government of boosting tourism in the area.  The Shrine is six kilometers away from Rajouri - Thannamandi - Bufliaz - Road on the one hand and constitutes shortest route for the commuters of Jammu as well as Kashmir Division Connecting the prestigious Mughal road on the other.  The devotees and the visitors using this road do not bother to visit again keeping in view the worst Condition of the above Road ,where as spurious type of black toping was done but led to the detritus condition of the road .
