Police Public Meet Organised by JKAP 6th Bn. Zewan, Srinagar

GNS Reporter; A Police Public Meet was organised by JKAP 6th Bn. at Armed Police complex Zewan, which was presided over by Deputy Inspector General of Armed Police Kashmir Range Shri Rauf-ul-Hassan IPS and was attended by a Galaxy of police officers. A large gathering of people from areas of Aripora, Zewan, Khanmoh, Zawoora, Baihama etc participated in the meet where in a very healthy interaction took place between the police officers and civilians. The Commandant JKAP 6th Bn. Shri Mohd Yousuf Shah threw light on the need of healthy police public relations in his inaugural address. He informed the gathering about the various goodwill programmes undertaken for the welfare of the people by the police department through civic action programme which was well received by the audience.
In the due course of the interaction the representatives of the civilians while speaking on the occasion complimented the goodwill gesture of organizing such a police public meet by JKAP 6th Bn. for the very first time in Zewan area. The audience was of the view that it shall go a long way in cementing the police public relations in future. The participants while speaking on the occasion highlighted a wide range of problems faced by them in their day to day life at their respective areas. They also appreciated the various activities undertaken by J&K Police through Civic Action Programmes.
In his concluding address DIG Armed Kashmir Range Shri Rauf-ul-Hassan IPS emphasized on healthy police public relations and sought the cooperation and support of the public in the maintenance of law and order, prevention/detection of the crime in the society etc. He also assured the gathering that police is always at their service and is bound to protect the life dignity and property of the people while upholding the Human Rights and promised the gathering of all the possible help in solving all their problems that were projected during the interaction.
The function formally concluded with a vote of thanks from Commandant JKAP 6th Bn.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships.
