Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Hold Public Meet

GNS Reporter Hiranagar-Kathua, October :President, Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee Prof. Saifuddin Soz, MP (former Union Minister) addressed a largely attended public meeting at Hiranagar today. He was accompanied by Shri Raman Bhall-Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation; Senior Vice President PCC Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma-former Deputy Chief Minister; Shri Dharampal Sharma-Sr. Vice President PCC and other senior leaders of the Pradesh Congress Committee. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Soz asked the people that their demands like solving Refugees problems, declaring of Hiranagar as Modern Railway Station and removing difficulties in the implementation of Roshni Act would be solved on the principle of justice and equity. He (Soz) also informed the gathering that the recent visit of Shri Rahul Gandhi-General Secretary AICC to the state has left very good impact on the political situation of Jammu and Kashmir, particularly functioning of the Congress party. He also told the gathering that Rahul Ji has remarked during his tour that Congress party had become very vibrant in recent times. On this occasion Prof. Soz told the gathering that it was a heartening situation that Rahul Ji’s dealing to the people was direct, democratic and transparent and his style of working should followed everywhere. He assured the people that Congress party would fight and get the provisions of 73rd Amendment accepted by the coalition government. Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Shri Raman Bhalla in his address said that problems of Refugees in Jammu are being looked into properly. He also accepted the suggestion of PCC President that he will constitute a committee to go into the proper implementation of the Roshni Act. Speaking on the occasion Pt. Mangat Ram Sharma exhorted the people to strengthen the congress party, as that is the only way to serve the people. Among others who spoke on the occasion included S/Shri Th. Manjit Singh; Ex-MLAs Th. Shiv Dev Singh, Parkash Sharma, Hans Raj Bhagat-General Secretary PCC; Secretary PCC Manmohan Singh; Chairman Labour Cell PCC Hari Singh Chib; Pankaj Dogra, Neeraj Gupta, Jagdish Dogra, Sanjeev Sharma, Sardar Khan, Vijay Tagotra, Nirdosh Sharma and Tilak Raj. Later, Prof. Saifuddin Soz and Shri Raman Bhalla visited the residence of Lt. Susheel Khajuria, who recently laid down his life while fighting with militants at Kupwara-Kashmir. Both the leaders consoled the parents of Shaheed Lt. Susheel Khajuria and paid their tributes.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships. Divisional Commissioner Jammu gave patient hearing to the deputation and assured them that he will look into the matter personally and keep in touch with the concerned authorities for regular supply of electricity.
